1997 4.0 4wd ranger. So I replaced the gaskets on my upper intake manifold, took me a little while, stripped a stud and replaced it with a bolt instead. Hope thats not the reason, so after reinstalling everything and cleaning almost all parts I started it and it idled fine, I let it run for about five minutes just to warm up and as soon as I got in and touched the gas I felt what seemed like a miss. I checked all my connections everything seemed fine, but still had a noticeable hiccup and soon developed even at idle. Driving around the block was a struggle and was ended quickly because of the intense miss. So I also hear a small whistle, I assumed this was another vacuum leak but upon spraying all connections with carb cleaner I did not see anything. Any help would be appreciated. If noone has any ideas I guess Im just starting with fuel filter and plug wires. I checked my firing order, it was all fine. And plugs were done around 7k ago. Hoping its something relatively easy because after burning half a day replacing parts I now am ready to set fire to my truck.
