I’m lookin to get a fancy new steering wheel…

Here’s the link to the one I have my eyes on. I have no idea why the URL is so long. In the title it says 78-91 ford truck but I’m suspicious that it won’t bolt up right. Does anyone have any insight on this? Will the adapter it comes with actually work or will I need to buy a different one for the new 6 bolt wheel? I have an ‘88 so I have no airbags to worry about.

Grant Installation Kit Application Chart

Best I can tell there is zero overlap between the applications listed for your part and anything Ranger based. Based on that I'm gonna say it won't work.

Well that’s unfortunate, maybe I’ll try and fab one up. I’ll post an update with the result!

Adapter won't work. Try their contact page, it mentions building a custom kit.

Honestly I'd be surprised if this company builds both steering wheels and adapters. Most likely they buy from someone else and sell as packages. In that case it's a matter of finding out what other companies use the same bolt patterns and buy an adapter (or both) brom them for the Ranger.

From the page of one of their 6 bolt steering wheel adapters:

Will also fit most 6 bolt steering wheels in the market with a bolt diameter of 70mm PCD (Momo, Sparco, NRG)

Don't know how accurate it is, but NRG steering wheel adapter lists the following fitments:

Car Hub Compatibility:
69-82: Ford Mustang
67-72: F Series
80-91: Ford F-150 | Ranger
All: Hummer H1

Looking at the application list for the correct MOMO on Summit, it seems to show a similar fitment.

I'm not sure how accurate they actually are, but according to this the kit above would have worked.

Acording to the grant chart and the overlap in the MOMO and NRG listings, these VSW adapters should work:

sth1010blk
sth1010sil

Then buy the ST3027 steering wheel and desired horn button.

Josh, you’re the man! I appreciate all the info. I just ordered these three items.

I figure it’ll be way less hassle if I have to return anything by using amazon. Plus the steering wheel is almost identical and over $100 cheaper. That NRG adapter you posted might actually be the better choice though. It basically combines the two adapters I ordered on amazon. It also, based on the picture, looks WAY cooler. I’m going to order it and if it works, I’ll return the amazon ones. Thanks again man.
