Hello All,

Just got the daughter a 92 Ext Cab 3.0 2wd Ranger.

I cannot locate anyone making the stainless steel pre bent brake line kit for her truck. I did find at Inline Tube they have a kit for a
1990 Ford Ranger 2WD Ext. Cab Shortbed Power Disc Brake Line Kit, Stainless
Can someone maybe tell me if that kit would work on her truck. The line going from left front wheel to right wheel is rusted not bad but I want to replace all of them from front to back.

What about an Explorer as an option?

I'm not an expert but the 90 and 92 Ranger are the same generation so I would think it would work.

I would have thought so also but according to them it was not compatible for 92 Ranger.

Maybe due to ABS or something.

The 90 Rangers have rear only ABS and use same hydraulic valve as the 92. So it really confusing. I am going to make a trip to the pick an pull yard and look at the Explorers and other Rangers to see if they match up or what the difference is between them. If that trip does not enlighten the situtation I will just by the tubing bend and flare my own tubes.

I have no idea why they say it won't work - I think it will. The only thing I can think of is that the fittings at the master cylinder changed in 1990 (parts search of the master cylinder itself confirms that theory, they are either before 1/90 or after 2/90 production date) so it may just be a matter of swapping fittings and re-flaring... if you are really planning on redoing everything.

You could just buy a roll of NiCopp brake line and do it all from scratch... that is what most people do... those that don't live in the rust belt can get away with normal steel brake line in bulk.
