Stainless steel braided brakelines?

Is there any reason why stainless braided lines aren't available for Rangers? Is the weird, long banjo fitting able to be replaced by "normal" brakeline fittings?

I want to replace the lines but I want to go with stainless braided lines, but none are available off the shelf. That made me wonder if there's a reason why none are available.

I would say they are not available because of a limited market for sales

Stainless braided brake lines are a liability, which is why car makers do not use them, they can separate from connectors as they get older because they are less flexible than rubber ones

They are also specific to high speed racing vehicles where there is hard braking at high speeds and the brake fluid gets VERY hot, rubber hose can expand when fluid gets too hot and makes brakes feel mushy, for on or off road use that would never happen
Well, if going down a long grade with a heavy load, if you ride the brakes then they WILL get too hot and you will feel them getting mushy, but that would be driver error not a fault of rubber lines, lol

Looks are another thing altogether, and why not?
Just be aware that they are a downgrade as far as longevity not an upgrade

You can get custom hoses made. It's common for racers, lifted 4x4's, motorcycles, etc. I almost did that recently. But found that Skyjacker had the length I needed already made for Rangers. I don't recall what other lengths they had.

That's what I was thinking, but if it were more cost effective to get the shortest option for a lifted 4x4 I may go that route.

I'm running the Ranger in autocross, so I figured why not.

Try SpeedwayMotors.com. That's where I found these when I did the Mustang rear disk brake upgrade to my '02 Ranger. Part of the problem may be that the Ranger, at least my '02 uses inch rather than metric brake line fittings.

if you use in autocross, be sure to check them regularly as they get chaffed between the braded stainless part and the rubber underneath. this is another thing that causes them to fail
