Some people piss me off......

global warming is a fucking myth,in 10 or 20 years we'll look back and say wow, were we that stupid.conserving energy is not a bad thing,in fact it is responsible stewardship of our planet.drive what you want, emissions laws take care of mother earth.what next, prius nascar or funny cars.will the "global warming"groupie refuse to ride in the f-250 ambulance after a kenworth runs over her silly ass.be skeptical of this global warming bull shit,it's why you pay a hell of a lot more for a/c repairs, and higher fuel costs due to "blends"of different gasses.i'm all for air quality but lets not go overboard until a majority of scientists, the world over can come together on it.give me absolute proof!y2k?

my ranger can tow that no problem. I just hope I wouldnt need to stop lol. I dont think that would go over to well haha :D

Mankind's input "Global Warming" is a hard thing to prove. But I don't care who you are, if someone wants to ride around in a little crackerbox car because they are better for the enviroment (which they are) let them, the only thing they are hurting is themselves in horrible accidents that their lightweight cars may do better than a big old tank of car. Quite honestly even my F-150 wouldn't fare too well head to head against a F-250 ambulance or a Kensworth, they would probably tear thru an Expedition without thinking too much about it.

The global warming thing will be A LOT more convincing once it exceeds recorded warm periods in the history of this planet.

I've yet to read of any large scale efforts that weren't misguided.....waivers (credits) for big companies to keep polluting as long as they do something else don't make their pollution go away.

You've never been to Mexico City obviously. Emissions controls work here, but in the places with some of the highest population density they don't even exist. China has few, Mexico barely has an emissions check, and Africa and most of Southeast Asia? Forget about it. Just because we do it here doesn't mean that emissions laws take care of the entire world. However, that does not excuse us from being responsible and keeping our vehicles maintained; we should just be focusing our foreign policy efforts on getting other countries on board with emissions laws.

Last time I checked, most of the notable scientific magazines and their scientists/constituencies have endorsed the idea of global warming. I'm not sure how much of a majority you need, but take a look in most respectable science journals and its there.

I don't endorse going overboard or burning hummers (which probably released more pollution into the air than the actual vehicle running for its life), I just think you need think responsibly and conserve when you can. A little bit helps if a lot of people do it.

"This is just plain irresponsable . and everyone wonders why the truck owners look bad. tell him if he had a problem with it call the law you would have been gone before they even got there. and also the EPA would have a good time with you for intentionaly dumping 2 qts of oil on the ground."

Dude, gimme a damn break. At the time I was 16 years old and didn't really grow up with the best crowd. Since then I have learned a lot. I am now the guy that picks up others' trash at trail cruises and stuff like that. I didn't post the story to brag, I posted it to show that I can relate to the other guy's story. Right now I still have the same Ranger, and everytime it starts to leak somewhere it gets parked with a bucket under it till I can get it fixed. I think I can tell the difference between right and wrong. I don't need your damn lecture, like you're my father.

You should have wiped with the pamplet, in front of her, and then left it on her windsheild. She might have gotten down off her high horse then. That or called the police on you. Either way she would have known your displeasure..........

Well, you could have saved yourself some sermons by telling us that before.

As a family, we wanted to have a fuel efficient vehicle. We have to feed 4 kids and can't afford to drive things because they are cool. Problem is, we live on the edge of a poor county that doesn't plow snow with any reliability and 9 winters ago we were both stranded with 2wd cars. Since then, 4wd is the first thing on our list. Unfortunately, last time we bought a car, no 4wds got very good mileage. Out CR-V only got 20-town and 25-highway--bad for a 2-liter 4-cylinder. Then we outgrew it and needed something with a third row seat and 4wd. There isn't anything so we bought a Pilot and it gets 17 town and 22 highway. I wish it had lithium crystals and got 90mpg and even if it was pink and emitted perfume I would drive it.

I drive a big fawker--crewcab long bed Chevy. But it has a diesel and I get 17ish in town with it. Low greenhouse gas emissions from the diesel; lots of particulates to clog up your alveoli.

I used to get a lot of crap for my Ranger, but then I started pointing at the flex fuel sticker on the tailgate. I don't use the E85 but it sure gets people off my ass!

by the time i was your age,i had already participated in operation frequent wind, was homeported in sasebo and yokosuka, japan and toured many countries in se asia.been to mexico, africa, oman, diego garcia.i know what your saying and i agree to a point.scientists can be wrong, and i'm very skepticle.one says yeah, one says no,i'm not ready to sign on.drive whatever turns you on,doesn't bother me in the least.the pamplet will end up w/the religious pamplets i get at the gas station by well meaning people,in file 13.

Don't ever forget for a minute that the nickle plated batteries in those tree huggers are so toxic and cause so much more pollution that they are made in China, plated somewhere else and shipped back to the U.S. for installation. AAAANNNNNNDDDDDD, you CANNOT dispose of them anywhere in the U.S! Every Hybrid that we repair, I mean replace the battery in, we have send back to the factory, in a specialy marked container, so that they can be shipped back to another country so that they can deal with all the pollution and toxic waste that goes into the environment. So, next time the Pompous, tree hugging bastards approach you about this, ask them how much they truly know about their auto, and remind them that Gore is an idiot!:nopityA::nopityA::icon_hornsup:

HAHA.

Yeah, the Ranger might have a little trouble with that. I'd definitely get an SD to haul that thing...

Well the 5.4L doesn't like toting around a 12K trailer along with it's 6K self.

I bet she would shit if she saw how fast my fuel guage dropped with that thing.

:icon_surprised:

I had someone do that do me in a brand new Civic Hybird.

"You're the reason why the environment is in such bad shape"

"Umm...Ok...Random question for you, what was your last car?"

"What does that have to do with anything... *me stairing at them until responce* ... It was a 1986 Civic"

"What was wrong with it? Was it repairable?"

"It was old and starting to wear down"

"You do realize to crush/distroy one old car, it causes the same amount of polution to run a 20 - 25 year old car with out of date emissions for one whole year, excluding gas of course. But you're repairable old car, that was still good, eventhough it was getting old, just poluted in one day more then this truck does in a year. Now the next time you talk to me, make sure you get your damn facts first. F-off yuppie"

Or something to that affect, I remember I told him off, and he gave me the blankest stair I think I have ever gotten, and then I peeled rubber away from him.

Oh and on a side note (not to affend anyone who has one here), What does a Hybrid and a tampon have in common?

Every pussy has one!!

I always thought it was interesting that the 5.4L was standard...I mean, that's kind of a small V8 to be pushing a Super Duty plus towed weight. The 6.0 diesel was not bad, although with a high initial cost and some problem areas.

I've always wondered about the V10...anyone had any experience with it?

ya know, i would remind these northerners who drive a hybrid that last i checked without inefficent 4x4 plow trucks they wouldent EVER get out of there driveway all winter. not to mention there lawns wouldent get landscaped, and many of those "services" that they use so much wouldent exist if it wasent for big inefficent trucks.

86

v10 is kinda like a beer bong when it comes to gas consumption, one second its there the next your looking to re-fill.
