Some people piss me off......

See, i try to get a middle ground....I have a 4 cylinder truck. I use it like a truck. Yesterday, I hauled a load of ear corn home. today I hauled my tools and parts to fix a tractor. tomorrow, i'm going to work.

large gas dumptrucks are common around here....they are popular farm trucks because they are built well, and they are cheap, because they are gassers. as a farm truck they run for a total of maybe 8 days a year. a diesel doesn't make sense here.

I work with batteries on a daily basis. traditional lead acid batteries are just as dangerous both in power stored and toxcicity as most other types of batteries.

I understand the logic behind their posts perfectly. Rusty is saying a Prius or similar car is impractical for his needs, and Will is saying an F350 would make an impractical commuter vehicle. I completely agree with both statements, but I felt Will's post was totally irrelevant because neither Rusty nor anyone else said that he was using an F350 for a commuter car. And I never called Will stupid, I said his post was. Which, I'll admit, was still a little harsh but I was already kinda pissed at Will for unreasonably jumping down my throat in the "Hybrid Tahoe" thread and I felt like being harsh. For that, I apologize Will, but that still doesn't make what you did justifiable.

You.... cannot read, notice where Rusty says "Bring her prius, or a insight, or whatever out to the farm....start pushing stuff around and hauling\pulling loads....see how long it lasts."

note that he's trying to make item A (the hybrid) look bad by placing it in an ideal setting for item B (large dually)

now note that will took item B (large dually) and did the exact same thing, proposing it be evaluted as a commuter vehicle, a role/environment perfectly suited to item A! But wait, what will is actually pointing out, is called a logical fallacy, and he did a damn fine job of it. Thus, you sir have made an ass of yourself by jumping on your high horse to call someone else stupid for something you cannot understand.....

I feel entirely "justified" in what I "did"

I'm glad you found it within yourself to apologize, for that I applaud you sir.

Will, while even Ben Stiller couldnt afford to put gas in that dually to drive it 100 miles round trip a day, there is no doubt in my mind it would do it reliably (sp?).

I would put my dually up against any priius for long term reliablity. See how many of them are around in 30 years.

Fact of the matter is, i dont really give a flying shit if she wants to drive a prius, but she shouldnt give a **** (or say anything) about me driving what i wanna drive.

I dont really wanna spark a gas VS diesel debate.....but for what i do a big gas engine suits me better.

Aside from the fact I dont really know much how to work on (modern) diesels. An old 6.9 or 6.2 fine, anything newer then a 94 Powerstroke forget it.

Will you are one to speak about excess.....dont you DAILY DRIVE a crew cab long box 6.2L that you think is gods gift to pickups?

Oh....and hows that pilot you think will outpull a 300?

90% of the things you say are simply to contridict me.

later,
Dustin
