Wonderful! You fit the stereotype of the "ugly American" that will do anything you damn well please, with total disregard for anyone else, and all consequences be damned!

I don't know what you use the truck for, but if you genuinely use it for work it would have been much more appropriate to explain that to her, instead of coming off sounding like a total meathead.

If you do use it for no other reason that to get from point a to point b, then yes, it is a waste.

I've had tourists driving a prius give me a hard time for driving my 4 cylinder ranger!!

I had this happen to me about three weeks after I bought my Ranger. Some lady in a parking lot noticed it was new (no plates yet) and made some snide comment that I could have made a better choice. I told her it gets better gas mileage that half the cars in the parking lot, including her Nissan Maxima.

I had the same kind of situation happen to me/ On my way home from work I lost the rear main in my 2.9, so I pulled over to add oil just so I could home, when out runs some @ssh0le yelling about me leaking that crap in front of his quarter acre peice of land that cost him half a mil. I told him to screw himself in the most polite way you can talk to people like that. As if that wasn't enough, the bastard told me I shouldn't be driving my hunk of sh!t like that, so I gave him the option of leaving it parked in front of his house. He didn't like that either, so down went two quarts of oil, one in front of each rear tire. Then I began the good 'ol power-brake till smoke filled the whole damn neighborhood. Needless to say, I think he'll keep his yuppie ass in his damn house next time somebody stops in front of his house.

Price of two quarts of oil-$5.00
Two rear tires-$200
Replacing the motor a week later when it blew up-$300
Making myself look like an ass, all because I was pissed-Not the first time.

Seeing the look on his rich face as I make oil prices rise two quarts at a time-Priceless

this is just plain irresponsable . and everyone wonders why the truck owners look bad. tell him if he had a problem with it call the law you would have been gone before they even got there. and also the EPA would have a good time with you for intentionaly dumping 2 qts of oil on the ground.

I would love to video tape someone pouring oil on the ground and spinning tires on it in front of my house. I would also get the part where the deputy creases your forehead on the top of his door frame and when the wrecker hauls your shitheap off to the impound.

I guess I live in the wrong part of the country because I've never had anyone confront me about my vehicle choice.

Will, thats because here in indiana, no matter how big your truck, there is someone in town with a bigger truck.

I don't know about you guys but, I pisses me off when I have to fill up my gas pig e-250.Sure its a free country, you can drive whatever you want.I get 11 mpg on a good day.I could only wish if I got 20 mpg.My next vehicle will get better gas mileage, you don't have to be in my face about it.What that woman did was just stupid.Just wait until she has to replace all of the very expensive batteries. So what is she really saving?

If I wanted to drive a Kenworth around town there shouldn't be some snot nosed person sitting at each station telling me how wrong I am.

If I pay for the thing, keep it road worthy and insured then you had better not tell me what I can and can't do with it.

If someone says something I am going to tell them where to go. It's rude to start shit with someone you don't even know, about something you know nothing about.

My F-250 gets between 11-13MPG. But you know what, I am still making payments on the thing so I am going to drive it. Why shouldn't I. I won't be using any extra gas, I will just use up what she is saving.

When her shit breaks down maybe she will think about it once she sees the big truck pull up to tow her. I bet she won't say anything to him.

Those batteries have a 7-8 year life span , and are $3,500 to replace. My brother traded his 20mpg Sonoma for a 50mpg highway Prius. He commutes 108 miles per day 5 days a week. He puts 30,000 a year on his vehicle--twice the national average I believe. So he is going to save 6,300 gallons of fuel in those 7 years. At $3 a gallon, that's $18,900. It will be more than that because the 4.3 Sonoma does much worse than 20 in town and the Prius does 60 in town instead of 50. I think saving $20,000 isn't unreasonable. And $10,000 for your 15,000mile/year driver. There's room to pay for those batteries in there. It's likely the highway-heavy driving will make the batteries last longer than that 7 years as they will cycle less deeply.

My wife argued that you could get a 35mpg car for half the price of a Prius and come out ahead that way. It's arguable but neither scenario puts your 11mpg van in a very good light. You would save almost $40,000 in those 7 years if you had his drive.

Exercising rights just because you can is pretty fucking stupid too, waste of any kind is downright RETARDED if you're just ripping around at 7mpg for no reason whatsoever, then ya, you're a tard, on account of our centuries guzzling of fuel (which according to you, should be fine given that it's possible) the next few are pretty much up shit creek, so perhaps you should rethink things a little,

Pushy self-righteous twats are annoying as hell, but nothing is more frustrating than watching some asshat gluttonize for no reason, I remember gluttony coming up in a book somewhere, whatever.

"can" != "Should"
True, BUT he wasn't shoving his beliefs down her obnoxious tree hugging throat. He was minding his own business, she wasn't. I assume Rusty is a grown man; he shouldn't have to answer to some nosy bitch who didn't pay for his truck, nor drives it.

I guess she didn't know that the tank at the farm was empty and you were on your way to pick up a load of cattle and a new trailer.:dntknw: I usually feed people a line and then ignore them and be on my way.

Yeah, but then that self righteous witch would probably give him a sermon about why he should be vegetarian & should let the cattle run free.

I would have to admit that I would get a tad upset by the same thing.

Afterall hybrids are the leading cause of smug in the country now.:D (I don't like too many episodes of Southpark, but I liked that one)

same thing kinda happened to me only i was standing in my driveway hosing the dirt of of the walkway and some old man driving a geo or something stopped and tried chewing me out for wasting the earths precious water on menial tasks, so i sprayed him in his bunny hugging face.

Let me say somethings....

First off......I drive the Dually maybe 3 times a month.......so its not like my Daily driver by no means, If its a nice day or i feel like romping around in something i drive it, Or if i have to pull a big load or haul something heavy. Otherwise I run my 300 Straight 6.

Secondly, you can call me arrgant or whatever, but like i said, its my money, my vehicle, so on so fourth, if you dont like it, kiss my ass.....plain and simple.

The couple gallons i "waste" in a month sure dont make up for the millions and millions wasted by others.

Dustin
