The handle that reclines my passenger side seat has snapped off (see pics below). Before trying to hack the mechanism back together, I was wondering if anyone has fixed this before. Is this part order-able, and can it be removed from the seat and replaced?

Thanks for the help.

Hmmm...I've never seen one snap before, but I'm sure the junkyard has the parts you need...or maybe just replace the whole seat...they can be had for about what it would cost you in time and frustration...unless the seat is special...

You might even want to upgrade your seats for something else in the process...

However, as they say, anything can be fixed...for a price...:)

a buddy of mine did the same to my passanger seat. i was thinking what a ham fisted S.O.B, but i think its just crappy design.

Hi, so my driver seat lever also broke off exactly like your . And I was able to take it off the handle and broken pieces. I used a strong glue like gorilla super glue and tomorrow I’ll put it back together and see how it does. My driver seat was leaned forward because of that. And later on I’m going to see if I can find a new replacement part for that if not , then pull a part here I come. Lol . If I was you try and do the same as what did or look on rockauto.com for the part.

Same thing happened on my 93 supercab drivers side, and I've only been able to access the cargo area from the passenger side these last 15 years. It only screws on, and the metal snapped right across the screw lines.

I have never found another one that screws on, the others all have a very tough rivet type thing. I once tried drilling through one and that rivet is made of some very tough stuff

Yeah, all I pretty much did was look how it’s set up and seen what kind of screws we’re holding that up together and pretty much just took it apart. I took the broken piece apart. That was attached to the spring, and then the other broken part that was attached to the handle. Was attached to the spring and stuff was holding in there pretty good. All I did was take a flat head screwdriver and hammer and it upwards tickets at peace out . And I pretty much put a strong glue to hold them both pieces And put it all back together and worked just fine. I just really didn’t want to replace a seat just because of its handle you know I got those nice bucket seats.
