Saginaw really that simple??

I wonder if I can find the whole set-up in the J/Y seeing as mine close to me has a ton of earlier fords in it.

You probably could but you will need to take the pulley remover with you. I never looked online to see if they offered a rebuild kit for it.

Just take the bracket and all and remove it at home.

New thing I was working on was to just swap the whole thing for an easier to find pump.

Built a new bracket that will hold the readily available GM style Saginaw pump. The pump I have mocked up is a PSC pump that is sold for a Saginaw conversion on an early bronco.
Even added the mount for the A/C compressor. Fits perfectly.

I've got to press the pulley on and swap the line over.

Are you still doing pumps for people or maybe some of these brackets?
.

The deal I had on the other pumps went bad and I only have one of them left. Been trying to source more but in the meantime I decided to do this bracket. GM style pumps are everywhere and literally can be bought for $10. Long term it would be better to finalize the bracket and get it out so everyone can do the swap if they wanted. The PSC pump I have in the photos is being run on 4 vehicles I wheel with, 2 running hydro assist and 2 full hydro so I know the pump is able to handle whatever I throw at it. Not to mention it can be purchased brand new for less than $100.

Sounds good. Is the bracket in the pics the first prototype you are basically testing?

.

Yes. I cut the pieces out with a plasma cutter and welded it all together. I used the factory bracket to make the jig so all holes and mounts line up. I made flat patterns and gave them to the laser cutter so all future brackets will have a better finish. The center of the pulleys have a difference of 1/16". I'm sure the belt tensioner can handle such a small difference but I will change the bolt holes to fix this. I should have my pulley on and a new hose by this weekend. As soon as laser cutter gives me my quotes I will be able to nail down pricing.

Sounds awseme. Thanks for doing all this work.

Had to pull it back off to put a new pump on and clean the bracket up. Took a couple more pix of the bracket.

Ok, so make me the same bracket except instead of making a mount for the stock ac compressor make a mount for a york 210 compressor for oba. That would be the bomb diggity. I have a york with a serpentine clutch on it you can use to make me one. lol

Send it to me or send a paper template and I'll have you one waiting when you come over. We can install at the shop. Everyone loved your Harlan vids BTW...

Sounds good. We will figure it out. I'll send you a text later on when I get off work.

If you have to get a pressure line for that pump made up go ahead and get me one made also. Also if yall have another pump hold me one of them also.

Got it in and hooked up. Need to shim one side of the A/C compressor to get the belt to tighten all the way up. Luckily I had a standby A/C delete belt laying around so I put it on. Had a new pressure hose made with the Ford fitting on one end and the Saginaw fitting on the other. I ran it for a few seconds without the return line hooked up to get all the old fluid out. Then filled it and got the bubbles out. Steering is noticeably different.

Let you know more after I drive it tomorrow.
