Saginaw really that simple??

SO I have had a Saginaw pump (with horseshoe bracket) that has been sitting in my basement since last year and I think I am ready to put it in the truck. Since it is used, I want to rebuild it before I install it. Is the above part what I need? If no, anyone know the right part number?

So anyone have an answer on this. Looked through this thread and couldnt find anything

So how does one separate the pump from the reservoir on the Saginaw? I removed the 3 hex bolts and removed the horseshoe bracket. Also removed the two 14mm bolts on the back of the pump. Only thing left on one large bolt that is on a block on back or reservoir (as noted with red mark in pic). Does that come off too? Tried a little bit but don't want to break anything

Just so everyone knows, the shaft in the pump O'reilly's sells is too short to use with the horseshoe bracket. I just put my saginaw back together using the one from O'relly's and had to put my old shaft in the new pump.

I need to do this. Before I try to take it apart the new pump and break something, any tips? Is there a write up somewhere?

Ok, I got the pump ready to go, correct shaft and all. My last question before I install it concerns my cooler. My truck has a power steering cooler stock. Will I risk getting air into the cooling system during the swap? My head gasket has blown twice and don't want to risk a 3rd.

I'm not sure about your truck, but on mine the power steering cooler does not connect to anything but the power steering system.

Two separate systems, it helps to prefill the lines but it isn't absolutely necessary.

Awesome. Thanks guys. Now just have to set some time aside to borrow a pulley puller from Orielly's and get the pump in.
