Saginaw really that simple??

I run the HD T bird pump from OReileys on my 2.9. bolted on no problems with its shaft length.

Interesting, guess it depends which motor, or maybe mine came with a different shaft in it from O'reilly? Who knows, all I know is it was about an 1.25" too short and too large (diameter) to fit my stock pulley.

So has anyone modified the bracket on the 4.0L without removing it from the truck? I got an extra at the salvage yard to modify and, with the AC, it was a little of a pain to get out. Don't want to break anything on my truck. If it is not that hard to modify the bracket without removing it I would want to do that.

Just sent "that guy" an email, hopefully i can get one of the ones he has. The pump in my truck is smoked. After about 30 minutes of rock crawling, no steering. VERY hard to try and make it through places when the power steering pump over heats....

Has anyone ran a power steering cooler with one of these pumps? If so, interested in what you used, and how you did it.

I've had a few inquiries about the pumps. Because of my new job and my wife's new schedule and my oldest son starting soccer practice, I haven't started on the pumps yet. I will start tearing them down soon and get back to everyone. I got a couple more coming in and will continue my search. I will buy everyone I can find and continue to offer them as long as I can find them. I haven't even started working on mine yet and after the last wheeling trip, there is a puddle of fluid under my Ex.

hell id take one without it being rebuilt

just got one. Thanks to NMB2. Once i get it, i'll do the write up on how easy it is to install.

Rockauto has remans for $29. Thatguy, what would it cost to ship me one of them pumps as is?

they most likely do have them. Only thing is they dont come with the u shaped bracket on the back and the reservoir, which are the two things that are damn near impossible to find.

I'm interested in getting one of these as well. Same story here - local Napa doesn't have them and can't find them anywhere in their system. If anybody has one they're willing to sell, I'm interested.

I just picked up the metal res. pump with the horseshoe bracket from O'Rileys. A1Cardone 20-6244 for $79 and a $45 core. There were 4 of them in local stores!
Modded the bracket and installed the pulley...once I get the cooler tomorrow, I will hook it up and try it out!

My stock one died at Moab!

:icon_rofl:

My siginaw one started locking up and howling on me at Moab! Coming down Hell's Gate SUCKED with the power steering acting up....

BTW, the install is yes, that easy. You grind the piss out of the bracket until it fits. then press the stock pulley back on, and bolt it all back together
