Saginaw really that simple??

Like I said before, these pumps were (to my understanding) aftermarket for ford vehicles so looking in the junkyard is going to be hard. I bought mine a year ago for like 50-60 bucks complete from advance. Then recently it died and I couldn't source a new one anywhere so I chose to get the AGR (really not happy with it in the week it's been installed). Since this thread came up I found I can still get the pump, luckily I saved my old one so I can piece together a new one with the parts.

I wish I could tell you where to get the parts but I looked for myself and wasn't able to find anything. Sorry this doesn't help but I guess keep looking in junkyards or online.

What don't you like about the AGR pump? I was considering getting one...

Does the AGR eliminate the whine like the Saginaw does? Tech page is not clear on that point

.

It turns the wheel great but it isn't nearly as quiet and it's even been bled under vacuum, and costs more than twice as much. It is quiet at idle but makes a noticeable whine at higher rpms.

Napa part number 816795. It is complete with reservoir and horseshoe bracket. Im gonna buy one on payday along with a steering gear box rebuild kit.

Only if your local napa has one on the shelf. I tried 2 napa's by me and neither had it and couldn't order it, it's no longer in production. Hopefully you'll get lucky.

Yeah, it's on the website but near impossible to find. None of the stores in my area have them and neither do any of their warehouses the get their inventory from.

If you score one, PM me with the info

Sorry guys, I jumped the gun a little. I called the store and they don't have it and can't get it. Looks like I am going to the jy this weekend.

I have 5 of the correct metal reservoir pumps with the horseshoe bracket. I can send out as-is or put new pumps in with lifetime warranty. PM me if you want one.

Dont forget to save one for our deal for me.

Yeah. I really got 7. One is yours and one is mine. I got everyone I could find and I got some guys looking for more. Told them I'd buy everyone they can get.

You must have hit the mother load. I have been looking everytime I go to the junkyard and never seen one. Found a little bit of everything else except those. lol

Just so everyone knows, the shaft in the pump O'reilly's sells is too short to use with the horseshoe bracket. I just put my saginaw back together using the one from O'relly's and had to put my old shaft in the new pump.

I run the HD T bird pump from OReileys on my 2.9. bolted on no problems with its shaft length.
