2.3L ('02-'11) Rebuilding underside of 2001 ranger and I need to know which lines connect to which posts on fuel filter. One post is 3/8” the other is 5/16”.

I am rebuilding my fuel lines on this 2001 Ford Ranger, coming from the pump are 2 hoses I just installed but which line goes to the 3/8” post and which line goes to the 5/16” post on the fuel filter? Can anyone help?

At the risk of being captain obvious, the 5/16" line goes on the 5/16" post and the 3/8" line goes to the 3/8" post.

My bad, I put in 2, 3/8” lines, because the one kit I bought from Dorman was a 3/8 line with a 5/16” connector so is that for the fuel coming from the pump or going back to the tank?

5/16 lines are typically the fuel supply (pressurized)

3/8 lines are fuel return

What engine do you have?
