This is so weird, I'm not even sure where to post it.

I have a 2003 Ranger XLT FX4 Level II, bone stock with about 73000 mile on the clock. This truck has never given me a problem at all.

I went to start the truck this morning, stuck the key in the ignition turned the key, and it wouldn't start. You could hear all the relays clicking under the dash, dash lights were dim and acting crazy. Pulled the key and the light stayed on for a few seconds and you could still hear the relays clicking.

The battery appears good and is still fully charged. I pulled the connectors and cleaned them and the terminals.

Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

sounds like the keyed ignition is bad. It is a cheap part

I'm a dummy when it comes to this stuff.

I'm assuming that the keyed ignition is just the switch part for the key? If so, would I need to get the keys recoded or buy new keys?

Just the electrical part.

I'd at least rap on the starter, see if it cranks after a whack with a large screwdriver handle.

Might not be a 2003 issue, but I know the 3rd gens like a second cable grounding battery to frame.
