Rangebe...version 2.0

Didnt get too much done this weekend, but am stoked to get wheels/tires on this week

Front end still sat about an inch lower than the rear, so I addressed that. Tore it all out. Took all of 5 minutes, got this down to a science now haha.

Took out the washers I had in there, added some more and welded them up for added reassurance. Not necessary, as they are captured about the spring bolt, but I figured why not.

Spring in place, have TONS of thread for nut engagement.

And all buttoned up. Also added some shock boots I had kickin around on there.

And.....removed the rear sway bar. Truck is totally sway-bar-less :D Ive got to try and squeeze every ounce of flex I can out of this pile.

Forgot to snap a pic of the truck after, but it sits level now. Also trimmed the front bumper at the wheel opening to make sure the new dubs dont rub.

Sounds like wheels/tires are going on tuesday. Im pumped.

I too squeezed my stock TTB for every ounce of travel available on my Explorer. With steel spacers like yours, no sway bar and the correct length shocks I managed 10" of wheel travel.

-Nathan-, I like the new project man. If your needing any parts for that 2.3 let me know, as you seen that truck on the trailer. Also I got a D35 and 8.8 just sitting in the garage. lol I am still in your debt so they are yours if you want them.

Haha maybe, what gear ratios in them? More than likely however WHEN (not if) I explode the D28/35 it will get an SAS with an EB 44 or similar.

Tires and wheels go on tonight :D will post pics later.

they got 3.55s, and sas would be the way to go, one day i will go that route to.

spacers on, followed by shoes :D

Couldnt be happier with the stance. It sits wide and low, should do well offroad.

Thinking if I have time this weekend, spare tire carrier and snorkel might go on.

looks great Nathan, whats the tire size?

I know! I know! :D

oh... forgot to mention Ive got new wheels and meats :D

They are 31x11.5x15 TSL bias, with 90% tread, with cragar 15x9 wheels. I have 5 of each, and the 5th swamper has never even been mounted.

Will do the manual lockout swap, and a small lift before I put them on.

Stay tuned.

I'm just happy I knew something.

Nathan, where did you get your spacer/adapters from?

ebay. just typed in 5x4.5 to 5x5.5.

i got the same ones from ebay, been using them for a while and still holding up perfect

Trucks looking good Nathan. I like the way it looks with the lift and the Swampers on it.

Thanks Clay :D

Got the snorkel on. As it turns out, the 1993-94 2.3 and 4.0 litre ranger motors have the same airbox. This made it very simple to hook my snorkel up to, as it was an identical process to last time...talk about deja vu.

took the airbox out, and the airbox intake off, as well as removed the inner fender.

epoxied the aribox intake hose so it was sealed up well

and put the coupler in place, which will connect the airbox to the snorkel tubing.

Rangebe...version 2.0

put the hose/3" abs pipe in place, its the same piece as my old Ranger, so have a look in that thread if youre wondering what I used.

Rangebe...version 2.0

drilled holes in fender, again same as last Ranger, and put snorkel in place.

Rangebe...version 2.0

used the same bracket I had made before, and screwed it into the pillar

Rangebe...version 2.0

put the inner fender back and hooked up the air box.

and all together

and done. Some may say it is a bit ridiculous to put the snorkel on such a mild build, but the stock airbox intake opens up right under the passenger headlight, and is known to take on water easily. I had all the parts, so figured why not.

peace.
