Rangebe...version 2.0

sweet deal man. Perhaps this summer Ill have to make a trip out and meet up for a brew.

I've got family down east of Estevan, so I might have to make stop in on my way through. You work quick, it's take me since December to get my truck stripped down, lol.

That'd be awesome. Haha, yeah I dont mess around. I should post pictures of Rangebe v1.0 teardown....had engine and axles out, and body stripped to frame in a Saturday. But yea, in all seriousness give me a shout if youre ever this way, Brendan is here too. peace.

And me! One day once I get my 4x4 back and I get good tires :icon_thumby: Haha

Worked on the super duty last night, will post about that in that build thread. So, felt obligated to work on the ranger. Well didnt work on it but sourced some parts.

Went to the junkyard, and cruised for a while. Scored this grille, no cracks at all, will look nice.

I like this style grille better than the one that is on it, plus its not broken :D

Picked up some spindle locknuts for both sides, so I can swap out for my manual hubs that I had left over from rangebe v1.0.

and last but not least....first part of homebrew lift...a set of front coil springs from a 4.0 explorer. As my truck is a 2.3, these will have a heavier rating, and should make me sit a couple inches taller than my sagged out 2.3 springs. Im not worried about spring rate, itll soften up when i throw a winch on there and other junk.

I will use these, and washer coil spacers if I need a little more lift. Got to get her ready for the swampers!

peace

Got a few things done. Driving it yesterday, the volt gauge was bouncing all over the place, and at one point wouldnt start. All it was, was a short in the battery terminals/wiring. Couldnt stand for that.

So out with the old battery.

And in went the new (one of the batteries from v1.0). You will notice I got rid of the factory connections to the battery terminals, and in their place used termination lugs. I have used these in the past, and they work phenomenally. Plus they make it much easier to attach to the terminals.

The old grille was broken, chipped, and disgusting.

Plus I am not a fan of this style of grille. So in went the one I picked up yesterday from the boneyard. Looks much better IMO

Probably wont be until next weekend that I do more work. The u joints in the front axleshafts are pooched. So Ill wait to change to manual hubs when I change the u joints out, as it will be apart anyways.

cheers.

Looking good Nathan. It's funny, I like the 4x4 grilles over the 2WD ones, I think it's awesome they have 4x4 imbedded in them.

glad to see you're at it again nathan, subscriberized

Lookin good so far Nathan. Keep the good stuff coming!
