Rangebe...version 2.0

tires are 31x11.5x15 bias ply TSL super swampers. Front has about 2-3" of suspension lift (explorer coils and washer spacers) and then the 3" body lift.

axles have 4.10's in them. It does ok, but not stellar, it could use a set of 4.88's for sure. In low range its perfectly fine for wheeling. Also, forget using 5th gear in high range.

got a sticker in the mail :D

so took this morning off from studying. Didnt buy the shifter extension when I got my body lift, I refused to pay 50$ for a stupid shifter extension, so I made one. Shifter before:

removed the shift stub from the tranny, and took it apart.

found some scrap steel that would work, and cut it to length

Rangebe...version 2.0

welded it up, and welded a nut (and drilled hole) for bolt to secure to shift stub.

peace.

nice wrok man. good idea for the shifter extension.

Had to take a break from studying, worked on the truck a bit. After the lift, the bumper stuck down way to far, and the hitch was practically a boat anchor.

and flipped the hitch so sits in a much better position....bumper isnt going back on, Ill build a bumper for it eventually.

Also tore the tailgate apart and got it operational, and fixed the cables.

Finished that ahead of schedule, so picked up some weld-on d-shackles from pauto.

There are NO front tow points on the truck, and hence reason for doing this.

I welded around the plates on the front of the frame horns, reinforcing them, before I welded the shackles to them.

So now I have tow points front/rear, and got rid of the anchor effect on the backside of the truck.

Just trying to get everything ready before the wheeling trip this May long.

took it wheeling, bounced on rev limiter all weekend, it owned everything.

any direction I pointed, I held my foot in it and clawed through, tires and welded diffs are the reason. I showed up much bigger more expensive rigs.

broke a cab mount, so need to fix that.

will probably build a front bumper/mount winch and just keep it running for now, and just enjoy it.

Im more wrapped up in some projects Ive got going on my diesel.

yeah thats a broken cab mount haha, but I did manage to squeak some flex out of this thing, even on STOCK springs.

I was the ONLY rig to not get stuck the whole trip.
