lol, nice

bet they don't fall off...lol

Haha. So the plan is to beat on this thing...hard. I fully welded the ujoint caps as to make them a "part" of te ear. Should avoid failure at these points. I don't care about replacing them, if I break a shaft or the carrier ill swap in a true 35.

Hopefully going to lift and weld up the rearend next weekend, and have my wheels/tires by then.

Peace.

got some goodies in the mail :D

sweet. I have the exact same 5x4.5/5x5.5 spacers on my Ranger now so I could use the 33s and rims off my 79, haha. how wide are yours? mine are 1.25" i think

well got it all done. Works good, and Im pleased with the results.

Got the axleshafts in, spindles on, and rotors in place. Then put the manual lockout spindle nuts on.

put a new set of brake pads on her....think they were a little overdue ? :D old is on left, new on right.

IMG00760-20110403-1051.jpg

shocks were maxed out, so in order to regain a bit of down travel, used a "custom spacer" to lengthen the mounting point of the shocks. this is indeed a budget build.

IMG00763-20110403-1112.jpg

springs and spacers in place, and caliper bolted back up. Yes the rotors arent in great shape. I dont care.

IMG00764-20110403-1120.jpg

at this point I needed to adjust the camber. It was not cooperating so out came the propane.

IMG00766-20110403-1401.jpg

the only tools required to align a TTB. I have done this countless times, and always works. Crude, yes, but it works. Kind of like Buckleys mixture.

IMG00768-20110403-1413.jpg

once aligned, pinch bolts went back in place. Made sure they wont seize up again :D

IMG00767-20110403-1412.jpg

and everything buttoned up. same as other side.

IMG00769-20110403-1422.jpg

ended up with about an additional 2" of lift up front. Its just under sitting level, so Ill add a couple more washers under the spring to make it sit dead even.

Will possibly weld rear next weekend, and hopefully get wheels/tires the week following.

Looks sweet, I think its gunna be fun!!

On another note, that anti-seize will stay on your hands for days

wheels/tires are going to make it. Still debating putting on the snorkel...what thinketh TRS ?

Thinking....thinking....thinking....

YES! :icon_thumby:

If you've still got it why not? If you decide later you wanna take it off or sell it, no harm done. Since this will be a strictly trail rig I don't think the hole will bother you.

bahaha. yeah still have the snorkel and winch Ill put on her. Going to wait till wheels/tires are on though. It would like a bit silly with the snorkel on now lol.

Nice work man, I'm gonna take in as much as I can for my next build. This is truly a budget built just up my alley. I've already been taught some new things.
