Radio only works in park

07 fx4, auto trans radio has no sound with transmission in gear, works fine in park. Radio has power no sound. Any ideas??

A few other questions:

1. Are you the original owner?
2. Have you ever had to modify the wiring?
3. Has it sat for long enough to get mouse damage?
4. Is the radio fully functional when in park?
5. Have you removed the radio to check the condition of the harness?

Not original owner, no wiring mods, rarely driven I suppose mouse is possible, fully functional in park, have not attempted to troubleshoot yet

Have you tried swearing at it?

Maybe a solid punch in the nose would help...

Strange symptom indeed. I would drop the knee bolster under the column and do a bit of wiggle testing of harness and connections.

I have 06 diagrams... if you get to a place that they might help.

if you wiggle the shifter while it's in drive, does the sound come back intermittantly?
