I had the front winch on my 1983 Ranger in a receiver with a receiver in the back and cable disconnects. As long as you don't fall on your ass moving it, it has its advantages.

i am surprised you do not have con specific drive shafts....some diy square 1/4 wall or something. worth the time to swap around. that place is brutal.

I think im going to build the next one out of heavier tubing and see if it helps.

See I think you need a heavy duty 2 piece shaft at this point... Get more of it up away from the rocks. I know they're harder to balance on lifted trucks but I'm pretty sure you know how to math it out.

yeah, kc cravens came up with a slick solution back in the day using stock front explorer driveshafts and a hard pillow block... he runs the red river area back then..


its been years since i run the rubicon but i have been out there with nearly every flavor of vehicle and the only thing i have is a custom stupid shaft for low speed.


back in the late 90s and early 2000s the toyota guys were already running square crap, but they were low power and doublers....


i got to experience the box before they ruined it.... place is big fun. how is soup bowl these days? is it still there at all? we camped spyder and had a zipline out there....was crazy fun....but that water was crazaaay cold too...

IDK how to copy the ost here, but if you go back to page 18 of this thread I did a heavy duty 2 pece with a huge belly pan. Its made it way harder to hurt the driveline, but still happens when i drive it like gravedigger over the rocks lol.
