Well, its been almost a month, but I finally got my tcase back from the machine shop. I can't complain, cause they had a few hot jobs that took up a lot of time, and it was done in their spare time, (IE FREE!!!) Anyways, for those that say BW cases can't be welded, here ya go!!
Because of the high magnesium content in the case, as soon as the puddle starts to cool, it pops, so getting the puddle/weld to hold can be time consuming and tricky. This is why you see cracks on the back side...Since it will not be a structural part, I'm not worried about it, it's just to keep the fluid in the case...I was surprised to see that they sand blasted the entire case, so I decided to wash the case ( had sand on the inside), air-dried it with compressed air, then painted the case. Since it didn't get that warm today (about 50), I let the paint harden overnight, and start on the adapter plate tomorrow.
I also did a little work on my mounting plate, cut the excess edges off. Sometime next week I will get a 4" holesaw and cut the middle out. Here is what it looked like last...
And what it looks like after...
The edges are not perfectly round, but I'm not too worried about that. Since I couldn't do too much work on the case, I also started fabbing the brackets for my sliders. I got them finished, but I didn't get a chance to attach them to the frame. Got called away to get my fire truck from the shop. County just bought my station a truck, and before I get it in service it has to go in for repair

Anyways, here are a couple pics from the brackets, the hole in the middle was there when I got the material, will have to fill it in for my plans...
Practice safety and clamp your work!!
If you don't, this could happen!!
