Project SVT

Well, on the way to get Brandizzle's Farfetnugen (that threw the connecting rod through the side of the block) my tow rig (1992 F350 dually 7.3L IDI diesel) decided to start running really bad...needed to change the fuel filter, no biggie, it was time anyways...was stuck on there so I headed to railman's house where we parked the car for the night. Had so much problems "keeping prime" after I changed the filter (or so I thought), turns out the fuel pump went out! Again, no biggie, I got 347,XXX miles on him, I think I got my money's worth out of the pump...So the next morning we get a new pump, and changed it "on side the road" with it being 18* outside :annoyed: After about 2 hours or so (stopping evey 5 minutes to jump back into John's truck to thaw out and warm up, I finally get the pump in...Well, couldn't get the filter off to prime it again (tightened too tight from last time of priming) so after the batteries going down from trying to prime I decided to pull start it, I noticed a puddle of oil under the truck, developed a good leak from the oil cooler...After about half a mile of pulling it in gear it finally started up and ran, but had a slight noise in the engine. So we stopped and unhooked the chain, and drove to John's so I can get the trailer and head home...Well, I get about 5 miles down the road (about 2 miles from John's) and it starts to die again :temper: So at this point I said the hell with it as I knew I'd need to pull the motor, parked the truck and hitched a ride to the house...Started working on Jay's sliders and I got distracted, well now I have a thumb nail in several pieces and cut almost to the bone  Jay comes over to see whats up and he almost Hurls from the sight of my thumb :icon_surprised: So to end my great day of tragedy, I'll be down for a couple weeks letting my thumb heal :annoyed:
So I will be accepting plenty of  for anesthetics while I heal :icon_thumby:

I'll have a cold one ready for you Sat

The "Brandizzle Family Oil Plague" strikes again!
Better keep her away from SVT or that thing'll develope an oil problem!
Yeah and since he ain't all there, and my MIGin is not up to par yet, I won't be needing any peanut butter comments about my sliders at TB this weekend!

Can't be any worse than my flux-cored, mis-aligned, cheap ass pipe.

Rick, are you running lockers?

I'm locked in the back (lincoln locked), but I'm replacing the 8.8 with a 60 very soon, I got my 513's for the front (since Jay isn't going with them, I was gonna go 538's) so when I get my 513's for the 60 and my spool, I gotta get my custom axles ordered then they're going in...hopefully I will have them set up by new years...
SVT

So the front is open?

Your going to run a spool in a street truck??

So you are keeping the width the same as the 8.8?

I have a 44 8 lug for the front, but I am cutting it down to EB width, as well as the rear 60...Debating to fab a 609 for the rear. As soon as I locate a front 60 without driving half way across the country, it'll be replacing the front 44
SVT

so your SASing it then
