holy pictures batman! love the truck buddy, you are doing awesome work. and that light bar is BADASS! functionable?

I've got over 30 strobes and LEDs on the truck, and yes, all are very functionable. I am the fire chief of my city and also a county captain, so they are needed...so onto today's work I've accomplished...
What I have here is a 1356M from an F-series truck...

And this is whats left...Anyone need parts??
doubler022.jpg

As you can see I started my doubler build. I took a bunch of pics and measurements, and then I took even more measurements...I have most of what I need figured out. I sectioned the case, cut the shift rail rod, measured the main shaft of how much material I have and where I have it and where I need to cut, measured a 1350 ( I don't have a 54 available for measurements, its in the Sport Trac) for shaft diameter and length, as I don't have the output shaft from an RBV trans yet available, its also in the Sport Trac...My reduction box will be 7 7/8 long, with either a 1/4 or 1/2 plate between the cases. My intermediate shaft will be 8.750 inches long. I haven't yet measured where my Tcase will be in relation to the fuel tank, but I'm sure I will need to mod it. I'm thinking of making a new fuel tank out of 1/8 diamond plate (only cause I already have the material) and taking advantage of my body lift and making the tank 3 inches taller as well as XX inches shorter for the doubler...

Nice rid, my dad is the Dep. Fire Cheif for our city, he has a 09 F150 for his rig, not quite as cool as the ranger, but then again he didn't pay for it.

Keep up the good work

In her defense, it happened suddenly, there was no warning. The oil light came on and she pulled over, but damage was already done. It possibly could have been a weak connecting rod and it just gave way...It was fine when she left Railman's house, and less than 5 miles later, just like a shot deer, it has a hole in the side and struggling to breath...

There now it's off the Truck of the month and on it's appropriate place!:icon_thumby: :icon_thumby:
Yep, it happened suddenly, 1 1/2 qts of oil just mysetriously dissappeared from somewhere! Must have been that Mobile 1 that has been terrorizing her family!! :dunno: :icon_confused: :icon_thumby: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl:
Like I said "the oil plague family" Like father like daughter!! :icon_idea: :icon_thumby:
And I think the "like a shot deer" metaphor is bad, seeing as one of your household residents couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a shotgun with a 2" barrel full of bird shot!! :icon_surprised: :icon_thumby:

Now the next question is "What oil was the cause of the 2nd Brandizzle Family Oil Plague episode" and will Rick boycott that one as well! I'm sure it's the oil or the vehicle manufacturer's fault, who have both spent more than millions of dollars on R&D!!
Tomorrow I'm going to get SR's take on the "Brandizzle Family Oil Plague" situation! Boy this is sure going to be interesting!!!

Might want to teach them "now that's thinking with your dipstick"!
And oil change frequency!! At least when it no longer feels slippery, it's burnt, smells like a burnt rubber, and has chunks on the dipstick!!!
You know fuel mileage is also a oil change indicator! My Harleys drop 3-5 MPG when it's time for an oil change. Friction is a terrible thing!
But with the way she drives that would never work anyway!

I do check my oil and yes im sure the car was due for an oil change but when rick looked at it last week he said it was good until i got paid again..and sr has already gave me a lecture about the car and he really didnt have much to say but then again i didnt really listen because i was already really pist off at the darn vehicle.
