Project SVT

I am using 44 arms and wedges on my 60. I also mounted my shocks on the c, you should look into don.g that before you change anything.

BTW, got your tank, gonna try and get it back to you this week.

maybe its just ne but i think thats just fine. id leave it finish it and go wheelin

Kyle, your setup is actually what i plan on going with. As strong as i built my setup, I know there is always improvements that can be made. My front end right now is too stiff, as when i Jack up one side of the frame, the axle doesn't flex and drop like its supposed to. Not sure why, it should as heavy as the 60 is, but its lifting. It pivots perpendicular to the frame( whole axle drops), just won't flex...

I'd move em out to the top of the inner C. I went out as far as I could to try and get some angle on the shocks to keep the truck stable.

If you look, I'm about as far out as i can go. You are able to go a little further than I am cause you are ball joint, I'm king pin. I have about a 1/4 inch for my knuckles to turn with my hi steer arms mounted. I wanted them as far out as possible, like you said.

I got a little work done today, but not much. I got the steering done, although this is very temporary (as in enough to get it out of the shop and around the house). Probably next week I will order a set of the 1 ton chevy tie rod setup. Tomorrow I will drill my high steer arms out. I will use the TRE adapters that Ruff Stuff has, this way I don't have to buy an expensive taper. Just drill a 7/8 hole, drop in there adapter, and bolt on the TRE. I already have the 7/8 drill bit, so this is a better option for me. Plus it allows me to go over or under the high steer arm, giving me more adjustability for my steering...

Thanks to Nick (1badexplorer) I also got my hubs in and installed. Later I will upgrade to 35 spline outers, but for now I'll run this. I'm not planning anything hardcore untill I upgrade the outers, and right now I'm open, which will help the stock outers survive...

Again, also thanks to Nick, I got these...

Weld on wedges from a 44 modified for a 60. Plans are to put these on the 60, but I probably won't do that til it gets pulled to put under the ST. The links will stay with SVT as the wedges won't work on the new axles :D Whats left on SVT before he's ready?? Trans Xmember, hydro lines for steering/hydroboost, brake lines, drive shafts, and relocating the battery to the bed. Going to try and knock out the Xmember, possibly the brake lines, driveshafts, and hydro lines...

Got some more done yesterday, not as much as I wanted, only worked on it like half the day... I got my custom power steering reservoir mounted and plumber...
DSCF5636.jpg

I also got one of my hydro hoses installed for my hydroboost setup. I need another hydro hose from a V8 ex to make my other line...
DSCF5637.jpg

Also clearanced the bottom lower corners of the core support for tire flex clearance...

I got my coolant recovery tank/windshied washer installed. I had to remove my original tank cause I needed room for the shock hoop. I ended up using a 94 tank setup, fits perfect around the shock hoop. I also had to remove the stock round airbox. I ended up installing a free flow filter. I know its not a cold air setup, that's not what I was going for...

That's all the work I was able to do yesterday. Today I started drilling my high steer arms, but my drill bit was too dull, so that didn't go far. Didn't really have time to do anything today, this weekend's shot, and the beginning of next week is out as i have a 2002 explorer i have to swap motors in...

SVT

SVT: what are you planning to do with the red radius arms you first built?

94, once I swap axles, the current link bars will get cut up and reused for the new axles, unless you want to purchase them, I'll let you know what I'll need out of them...

Small updates...
With all the other projects going on, little progress is being made. In the last week or so I've gotten the temporary trans crossmember fabbed up (I'll need a different one when the doubler is finished), got the hydroboost finally plumbed, and got my air intake complete. I also managed to get my high steer arms drilled for my 1 ton steering, which I have yet to order...
Here is my hydroboost supply line I modded to work with my system...

Here is my trans crossmember...

I also git a little work done on the doubler that has been on the back burner for a while. I drilled the center out to 4" diameter, which matches the Dana 20's input case. Total measurement came to 4.020", so I've got about 10 thousandths clearance on each side, but the 4" x 0.250 wall tube I bought has went missing around the shop, and all the metal supply shops around here were closed on saturdays :annoyed: so I can't finish the adapter plate til Monday. After that, I can get a measurement of my intermediate shaft length so i can finish assembly...
Here is one piece on the drill press...

Here are both plates(the reduction box on the left, the transfercase plate on the right) cut...
IMAG0291.jpg

That's about as far as I got. What's left? Front brake pads and brake lines from calipers to mc, driveshafts, mount front tires onto rims and onto truck, relocate battery to bed, fill up the fluids, charge shocks and I should be ready for its maiden voyage...

SVT

Hurry up with the doubler! I want you to work out all the kinks so I can start building mine. :D

It's been a long time since he's moved or seen the outside light. With all the other projects taking priority, its been pushed back left and right. I finally was able to get the shocks charged and tires mounted and get it out of the shop. I still got to run the front brake lines, relocate the battery to the bed, and install the driveshafts. I'm waiting on the shafts til I can get the doubler fabwork finished. I should be able to finish the doubler this week to get my shafts measured and send the intermediate shaft off for cut and respline. I need to adjust the shock psi up a little, its about an inch lower than where i want it, and need to install some bigger shackles out back to level it out. Here are some shots of SVT and the ST next to each other...
