That's a big fawking tire.... I see a lt less sheet metal in SVTs future

Yeah, but he's gonna love the 20+ inches of ground clearance under the axles :yahoo:

I can't quite put my finger on what you're doing wrong, but your welds look goofy.........are you using a small machine or something?

No, I've got a big welder, but on the axle tracbar mount I was stretching to reach to weld it. I was in a bad spot and difficult angle. That's not the best looking weld on the truck, but i know it will hold. I have been debating making another pass over it just cause i don't like the way it looks, but its all cosmetic...

SVT

ah. Yeah it doesn't look like its about to fall apart by any means. If it did, you know I would say it!

I was just trying to figure out why it looked weird, it threw me off.

Other than that... its all coming together man, keep at it!

I think with the limited access I had and being in an awkward position, I might have rushed it, causing it to look the way it does. I didn't have the best view when i burned it either, I'm sure that didn't help. I was too lazy to pull the axle to get better access. Guess next time ill be pulling an axle, lol

The michelins are a FAWKIN HEAVY tire... I hope you plan to actually 'wheel' on different rubber, or else I see a lot of broken axle shafts in your future, lol.

Actually, plans are to " lighten " the tires a bit by extensive grooving, but yeah, at 210 lbs per tire without the rim, they are a bit heavy. But at least my cog will be lower! Lol Actually, I'm planning on a different set of axles that will be cheaper in the short and long run. The ST will get the 60's for DD use...

Rocks FTW.... that is all...

Entire axles or just shafts? RCVs? Rockwells?

Entire axles, the 60's that are under it now are going under the sport trac...

Damn looking good cant wait to see it on its own feet under its own power. Ya i was gonna say weld looked a lil interesting like either not hot enough or you where running too fast giving bead build up and not much penetration

Hot weld( I like it hot, well, welding hot at least :D ) just too fast, was rushing to get out of the bad spot I was in...

Well, did a little work Saturday, but my phone was dead... I re-did my front lower shock mounts as they were too far in. Because of the way the link mount plates are designed, cosmetically the shock mounts are stupid ugly. I know it will hold, but i don't like it. I'm thinking of pulling the link setup out and going to 44 radius arms/wedges, modifying the wedges to fit the 60 and modifying the 60 to fit the wedges (I measured and can fit them with a little trimming) and making a simple plate to mount the shocks to and extending the arms. Anyone have a set laying around they want to get rid of, or know where I can get a set?...

Kind of hard to see, but its gussetted under the mount...
