They are both in the same place at Bundy.lol. It rained all day and that was the end of the day, so it was like oh shit we didn't really take any pics all day better get a few.lol

I still need a hub for the pass side.lol Mine has a chip missing where the lockout o ring is supposed to seal. I have always just RTVed it, but I would like to fix it someday.

Got hydroboost?
IMG_20121116_164637.jpg

I picked up the whole setup for 35 bucks. I want to keep my 1.25" master though, I think the 1.38" that is on it is way to big. Still have to do some measuring and figure out what lines to order. I pulled it from a 98 Super Duty and it had oring swivel on the box and a the newer oring fitting on the pump.

Did a little tinkering with the hydroboost last night. Looks like the RBV master will bolt right up to it as well as the 94 1ton master I am currently running.

I read about a lot of people saying the OBS master wouldn't fit on a newer Super Duty HB unit, but they were also "diesel" people. No offense to all the diesel guys on here. But a lot of guys think if it doesn't bolt right on or plug right in it won't work.lol.

Looks like late 80's F-SuperDuty pressure lines will be the ticket. I will need to shorten the pedal pushrod about 2" and remake the mounting plate since the 4 studs are spaced different.

Also looks like the pushrod coming out of the HB is .125" too long and not adjustable, so my plan is to cut it shorter and drill/tap the end for an adjustable set screw.

Ordered lines for an 89 F-SuperDuty today. They should have "type 1" oring on the pump connection and "type 2" on the HB. I may have to tweak the hard line, but it should work out with the Saginaw fitting.

Also measured up the pushrods and it looks like I need to trim .053" off the HB pushrod.

This little guy showed up yesterday.

I figured out how I'm doing the HB mount and pedal pushrod. I knocked the nut loose on the mount and pulled it off. Plan is to make one that A. Pushes it 2.375" forward, and B. Fits the Ranger bolt pattern. By pushing it forward I wont have to shorten the pedal pushrod. I wasn't real crazy about having a welded joint being the only thing between having brakes and not having brakes.lol

Threw a gauge on my PS pump last night to check the relief setting. Looks like it is set at 1100-1150 which is where I am.going to leave it unless I need more assist with the steering cylinder. The hydroboost unit isn't supposed to see more than 1250.

I trimmed up the pushrod last night and fits perfect into the master.

Hoping to get my mount made tonight and see if my F-SD lines work.

Made up my hydroboost mount/bracket.

It moves the HB forward 2.375" so the stock Super Duty push rod works. Unfortunately I will have to re run my brake lines.

I made a socket to remove/install the mounting nut since it is recessed down in my bracket now.

Lines will work perfect I believe.

I was concerned that the 98 HB would have metric fittings and I wouldnt be able to find a standard line with metric on the HB end and the old oring style for the Saginaw on the pump end, but it turned out they have the same thread as the 88-89 F-SD I ordered the lines for.

Bolted up the HB last night. It fits like a glove, I had enough slack in my brake lines too. The pedal sits about perfect too. It got dark before I took any installed pics.

The hydro lines are going to be tricky. The SD lines are about a foot to long. The supply line will work I just had to straighten one the bends a little to keep it out of the header. The line running from the HB to the box will be interesting, but I plan on chopping the tube off and flaring it so I can bend up the rest out of straight tube and connect them up with a union.

Here is a comparison

And a few pics of the new shop going up at my parents farm. Spent my thanksgiving running drainage tile for the down spouts and floor drains.

16' ceiling, 18' doors, 2 post lift, polished concrete, heat, running water too bad its 2 hrs away.

I see myself "visiting" more often.

I built my truck half outside less than 20ft from there.....why couldn't my dad have done this sooner.lol

damn, jealous of that shop. i hope to have one like that one day. just one lift though

Was it hydroboost?

-PlumCrazy

No :annoyed: I wish. I want hydroboost on my 97 esp after seeing you do the swap here.

Here she is. 351 Auto. Been sitting since 2002. The 351 has no intake. I sold all of the accessories already. I am going to have Redline Diesel test the trans so i can sell it. I want to try and trade the t-case for a divorced 205.
Front fenders are clean. I plan to keep the rear end for the Ranger. The 3.55s in the rear end will go in the dually. A friend is giving me $100 for the 4.10s are are currently in the dually. I will save the windows and anything else useful though. I am trading the front leafs and track bar for dually hub assemblies and BW1354. I need the rear blocks. Will probably sell the rear leafs. Most of it will be scrapped from there. I got it for $1000 delivered to my house.

Not bad. If your dually hub deal doesn't pan out, I believe the dually Dodge rotors are two piece and the spacer part fits on a single wheel Ford hub.

I have the unfortunate pleasure of having friends that drive everything from Dodge diesels to slammed Civics....and some how I get stuck keeping them on the road.

Pics.

I chopped the tubing portion off the HB to box line and flared it so I can bend another piece of tubing how I needed.

IMG_20121127_172612.jpg

My flaring tool needed some help getting a grip on the tube.lol
IMG_20121127_172455.jpg

I had trouble finding a piece of tube with the end I needed.
IMG_20121127_170807.jpg

I found a fuel line repair kit with the correct rib crimped in, just had to trim the "nose" shorter.
IMG_20121127_170818.jpg

I threw a tee in the return line for the HB.

Plugged the intake where the booster vacuum line was.

More to come tomorrow when I get tube bent.
