PlumCrazy's Build

Looks great. I think the height is perfect.

I think we sit at about the same height now.

I think you are a tid bit higher with that BL.
BTW are you making any trips towards Ohio anytime soon? I have some 64" leaves that would work great under your truck.lol. jk

Im only running around 3-3.5" suspension lift.

Im close to 5 or less I think, but I need to find a stock truck like mine to measure.

Ordered a long side shaft that takes the 760 joint from JBG today. I was was going to throw new joints in the extra full size shafts I had, but once I cleaned up the dirt and oil on them they look to be like new and are nice and tight still.

I think they are older Brute Force joints since they have a beefy-ass, non-greasable center section and red seals. Im going to save 40 bucks and run them.

Im going with standard OEM fullsize shafts with 760 joints, so we will see how they fair out with the mini-spool. I try to go easy on the skinny pedal most of the time, so if they pop Ill upgrade to Yukon chromos, but Im going to try to save some coin in the mean time.lol I imagine I will lose a lockout hub before a joint anyway.

Hopefully I get the shaft in time to get everything together for Bundy next weekend.

Did a little more research on the 760 vs 297 joints. I have 297s and9 times out of 10 they fail before the 760. I think I will go ahead and upgrade to 760s.

Brute force is pretty good. I had some in my rear driveshaft for 4-6 years with no problems.
They were still in the driveshaft when I did the 4x4 swap, now deathbypsi is running the driveshaft in his turbo ranger haha.

I bought them from oriley auto parts, it was murrays at the time.

With the doubler I don't want to take chances of destroying my new shaft.

I used to run Brute Force joints in my driveshafts, but they don't see nearly the amount of torque as the wheel joints do.

But Brute Force joints have been cheapened up big time. I am running Moogs now.

Picked up 220v Lincoln MIG welder for basically free this weekend. Said the feed motor didn't work, I put it all together and it didn't work, until I plugged in the switch on the trigger.lol. it works perfect.lol

So now I don't have to drive 2hrs to use dads. I still have to buy bottle for Argon though.

The tank is expensive, unless you can find a used one.

score!

I traded a chunk of rusty I beam for it. The guy wanted a piece to build a log splitter. I had a chunk in the scrap pile at home.

BTW, I see you sold the hitch, no biggie I dropped the ball big time on that one.lol.
I went over to pick up that trans and it turns out he scrapped it. I thought the trans sitting in the pile was from my buddy's b2, but when I uncovered it i found out it was an Jeep trans.

You aren't going to Bundy on Sat are you?

I sold the hitch to you :icon_rofl:. If you want it, its still yours.

No big deal on the trans. I am in no rush. My mind is currently on Project Dually SAS :D

I am not going to make Bundy :bawling: Dang weddings! I do want to wheel one more time this year though! Maybe Southington (http://southingtonoffroad.com/)

You have a build thread for the duallie sas?

Not yet. I was thinking about doing one on here. I want to collect a few more parts first. I am going to do a radius arm setup with 6.0L PSD Coils. Most people do leafs but then I have to box my frame. but I have to make sure there is clearance for what I want to do.

Ok. I still want the hitch.lol. I have just not had time to come get it.lol. I have to do wheel bearings, joints, and install my mini spool in the 44 before the Bundy trip on Sat. I still don't even have the new shaft yet, so its looking like its going to be a last minute job.lol
