Ok. I won't worry about the charcoal canister then. I was researching solutions to fit in a gas tank from another Ford Ranger model year (and also universal tanks). I looked at Ranger model years all the way into the 2000's. I also took measurements under the truck.
1988 Ford Ranger is all I found so far.....metal fuel tank still being sold new.
locking ring and tank vent valve can carry over from old tank
fuel pump wiring might need to be extended
fuel tank filler neck might need to be modified or shortened
access hole I already cut into box a few years ago......might need to be lengthened
I am just guessing that these changes would be needed.
Or I could just melt on patches from oil drain pan like I already did on the other crack.
