Hey, guys and gals. I just installed the 3" PA body pucks over the weekend on the 1999 Ranger (2WD, 4 Banger, MT) I've had since new. I'm not a knuckle head and followed the instructions to the letter. On the way to work, the check engine light came on. Anyone run into the same? I haven't gotten a chance to run the codes or even stick my head under the hood, but I'm hoping that the guys at PA missed something in the instructions that someone else has found.

Any help would be appreciated!

You'll have to run the codes.

PA is pretty good about having awesome instructions, and quality kits.

i'd bet it is an evap leak code, when you do a body lift you need to extend the fuel filler.

that code will pop up if you leave you gas-cap loose, so if you have even a slight vapor leak, it will toss a CEL. check there

You usually dont need to extend the fuel filler... at least ididnt. I would read the codes before assuming anything like everyone said. You could have broke a ground strap, left the gas cap off or something completely not related.

the 3" body lift didn't come with an extension for the filler? i have done a 3" bl and it came with an extension :icon_confused:

Thanks for the quick responses all. The gas cap is on and I did the extension - it was the one part of the kit I wasn't impressed with (the vent extension was way too small). Going to run the codes as soon I can punch the clock in the right direstion.

Just in case anyone is interested, the code was P0133 Oxygen Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank1, Sensor1). I cleared it and it hasn't shown back up yet.

Unrelated, just as I thought.

If it's in the budget, I'd recommend replacing both upstream sensors, and don't go cheap.
