hello all! I am currently in the process of a 302 swap in my 1992 Ranger XLT. After some measuring it has come to my attention that a body lift of at least 2 inches but preferably 3 inches is necessary to clear the carburetor of the hood. the reason I am here to day is to ask if anyone has had any luck finding a complete kit that isn't breaking the bank the only ones I can find are at leat $500. any help is appreciated. thanks in advance. :)

PA use to sell a complete kit pretty reasonable.

I searched ebay and just bought the lift pucks (3 inch round) in 1 inch height for my truck. I can't remember the sellers name... just search for body lift pucks or blocks and you will see them. Then I just bought the correct bolts from a fastener store.

When you get to a three inch body lift... you'll want to address bumper alignment. A "kit" typically has brackets to raise the bumpers to align with the body. Part of the reason kits are pricey.

PA might be "Princess Auto", an auto parts store chain. But @Uncle Gump will have to confirm that.

I would tend to think the F150 pucks should work. But, don't go by my word.

I'm going to invite @85_Ranger4x4 to chime in here since he has an 85 with carbureted 302 and Im pretty sure he's rocking a bit of a body lift.

You could try LMC Truck

PA... Performance Accessories i think.

Pa...

Physician's Assistant?
Pennsylvania?
Princess Auto?
Pierogie Assortment?
Public Address?
Practicing Attorney?
Plumber's A**?

I've subscribed to a few canucks youtube threads (gearheads, tool review guys, etc), been to vancover and went inside one. Think of Princess Auto as like Canadian "Harbor Freight"... not really an auto parts store. Well kinda a bit more maybe more like 1/2 of a autozone and harbor freight mushed together... they don't carry much that is specific to a certain model just tools and fluids, and generic accessories (like battery chargers)....So I would agree PA is more likely to be Performance Accessories than Princess Auto

Not sure what that does about bumpers, I had to make my own bracket for the front but my first gen is totally different than your second gen.

I used the steering extension, shifter extensions will vary... you can adjust for that with your swap.

The steering extension is weird. It just makes the shaft longer, it doesn’t do anything to correct the angle change from the lift, I couldn’t use it with my 2 inch. PA body lift.
