Also yes heat is the best. But you can't always use heat.

I 100% agree on penetrant. I've noticed the same thing. Pull the bolt out, threads are dry. But not so with the atf and acetone. Threads have been wet every time. And yes my explanation doesn't really make any sense. It was the only thing I could think of.
@Uncle Gump said I might have too many chainsaws. That really cut me deep. So I bought 7 more.

Good luck trying to kill an Echo weedeater... sure it might get cranky and hard to start but they seem to just go... I got one free from work like 13 years ago without a trimmer head, spent $1 on a bolt (left hand) and put a blade I got for $0.25 at a garage sale on it and I probably have at least 100 hours on the dumb thing, I've had to put parts in the carb but I always have those on hand for other things... sure the shaft makes a horrid noise because the liner is severely worn but it hasn't stopped yet... I think I need to use it today to trim around the pump house...I forgot to mention that little blue number. That would be a cool shelf sitter in the man cave. Reminds me of what Sno Jet was to the snowmobile world of the early 70's.
I've got a tree that has to come down... my saw is in pieces and I went to put it back together and I didn't get all the parts from storage. So that will be for another day. I really wanted a M18 saw anyway... this one was on sale for a $100 off. I wanted a 14 inch bar... but this one has the 16 inch. I got home and ordered an Oregon 14 inch bar and chain for it.

So now I have two saws... the collection begins. I'll see how it runs on my collection of 5.0 batteries. I just may have to jump up a bigger battery. The reviews are pretty good for these... I don't work fast and furious these days so it will likely be the perfect homeowner saw. I know when my Echo gas trimmer dies... I'll get a Milwaukee trimmer and be done with mixed gas.

Not to say I'm against your plan, I used the cordless cheapo Bauer weedeater to trim around the shop yesterday because it uses string and is less effort, less power but still...
I have a 30 year old Shindaiwa that starts first pull every time.....After using a cordless string trimmer.............. never use a gas trimmer again.
Replaced my 4stroke trimmer with a Milwaukee. Get the more expensive one with the interchangeable heads, not because you want a hedge trimmer or edger, but because it's more powerfull and has a two speed transferase.
The only people that should be buying gas string trimmers are people that use them for 10 hours a day or people that have way too much time on their hands and want to spend it fiddling around with tiny carbs.
