New System For The Old Girl

I'm giving my Ranger to my daughter so I decided to put a new system in it for her. The current system still hits pretty hard but the radio is old an doesn't have CarPlay or anything. It's a Pioneer touch-screen DVD player. The PowerBass speakers are still kickin' but have been played hard for the last ten years. They have been really good to me along with the PowerBass ASA 1100.5 amp. But it's out with the old and in with the new. She's getting an Alpine Halo9 iLX-F509 HU which has a 9" screen, JBL Stadium 52CF component's in the doors and 5x7's in the back, a 12" Alpine R-Series R2-W12D4 in a sealed box and an AudioControl A1100.5 amp to power it all. It should sound awesome!

LOL! I will take lots of pics while doing the install. I haven't done it since I did it 10 years ago so it should be fun. I decided to drop to the iLX-507. Basically the same HU only with a 7" screen but $500 cheaper! Here is what she is getting:

Made a couple changes. I have everything in now so I'll be tearing her insides out soon!

Opted for the W770 instead. She really doesn't need what she won't be getting with this HU.

Went with the AudioControl A1100.5 Altitude amp. We'll see how it does.

I put the iLX W670 in my DD and have been very happy with it.

The only thing it doesn't have is the RDS feature, where it displays the Station/Song/Artist when you are listening to terrestrial radio.

Not a deal breaker since I usually listen to satellite radio or stream via AndroidAuto.

I'm just powering OE size speakers with it (component 6.5's in the rear, 2-way 6.5's and 3.5" mids in the front doors) and feeding an older 8" Sub/Amp combo in the hatch.

MORE than enough power / sound for a 2-door MK5 VW Rabbit.
