Need to make it easier to join site

I have been using this site for close to 4 years now planning my 5.0 conversion. I never tried real hard i admit but today I finally found out how to join. Thanks guys for all of the amazing articles and forums cus without you I never would have made it this far!

I was thinking they need to make it harder for people like me to join...and just look at my post count...you will soon be a TRS junkie too...so be thankful it took you 4 years to figure it out...

If each post were a dollar...I could buy a new Ranger...almost!

Tough to keep out the spammers, that's why registration is sometimes a little tricky.

I'm an admin on a motorcycle site, and we had to tighten up the registration because of all these spam registrants hawking cheap goods and herbal remedies in their first posts.

Then you have to go and ban their username, report them to stopforumspam.com, ban their IP address, email address, etc.

PITA to deal with those buttclowns.

I do a lot of work on a New Beetle forum for the wife's car. Even with the tightened process---the spam bots always seem to find a way in.
