I am trying to get the most power out of my 2.3 ltr with out having to rebuild the motor... Any suggestions? I am putting 4.11s in the rear end. I have a K&N filter. What else should i do cause I am making my Ranger a pre-runner dune rig.

basically you need to increase the flow of the head to get more power, the head itself is the bottleneck

running a little boost wouldn't hurt either, it should handle up to about 5psi without any further mods

It really depends how much hp you want. If you would be happy with 150 then do cam, header, port and polish, and mill the head between .30 and .120(depending on what fuel you want to run), 19 lb injectors, maybe a tuner or custom chip and larger injectors if you want to spend a little more money. If you are looking for more n/a hp you will probably need to tear into the bottom end and go to a 2.5 at least.... or just go turbo and don't look back...

Thank you for the ideas but right now i cant even drive it because replacing my blown head gasket which the whole top end is all torn apart because my water pump just went out so i thought i probably should do it all... so it has been kind of a pain to get it all done but i guess that is the price of having fun at the mud flates in moses lake haha.... the ranger is going to be ran at the sand dunes so i dont want to run a turbo it... but i was thinking about buying a 327 from my buddy and put it in and keep it 2wd and make it a screamer i dont know it was just thought.

id try to stay 4wd......but thats just my opinion.
