I remember seeing a thread where a guy with a green Ranger moved his rear springs to the frame and documented the job with a parts list and all. Now I can't find it and would like to get another look. Anyone able to post a link to it for me?

last post at the bottom of this thread?
is that the right guy/truck?

I’m not really sure there’s anything to be gained by moving the springs to under the frame rails. I could be wrong, but I’d think that wider would be more stable. The Explorers have the leaf springs under the frame rails, but they also widened the frame so the springs sit about the same width apart as a Ranger.

That all said, super wide tires may require moving the springs. Or bulging the bedsides or something.

Saw all the photos of the build but I can't find the parts list he posted. All I really want to know is what year Explorer were the front spring mounts for? Rest of it is just chassis shop parts or easily fabricated.

In the very first post he says 01 Explorer

They were leaf sprung with the same parts from '91 through '01 so I would say that year range would cover it.
