Lets allow classifieds to be posted WITH OUT pics

After all NOT every one has a digital camera & not all cell cameras can be sized to fit TRS site. Any one can post a new tread or start a new Tread with out a pic ,so why does one need to have a pic to post a ad?

A person can post a ad on C/L & doesn't need a picture. Why cant this be done on this GREAT Informative Ranger site.

I posted in General discussion due to the fact that my cell phones pics are of a fixed size & cant be made smaller even tried it through Photo Bucket.

Then put it on craigslist. If i'm looking for Edge flares and you're in WA and i'm in NC I want to see some GOOD PICTURES of what the hell i'm buying. I don't know what's so hard to understand about that?

all pictures can be resized if you can put them on your computer... all you need is gimp.. or MS paint.

like said, put em on the classifieds, and ask a mod to resize your pics.
or put a note, that if ur intrested on the article, pm the e-mail so u can send him the big picture.

OK if anyone is interested then PM me your email address & I can email you pics of them. I have even had others try to get them downsized & I believe its due to the fixed size from the cells camera. Or if you want go to Seattle's Craigslist & under auto parts copy & paste this:

I don't think I have ever seen a pic that does not allow to be resized in something like Paint or Photoshop.

This solution is not to allow ads without pics, the solution is to learn to resize your pics.

Not a slam but it is not that difficult. I have a PC at work that does not have any extras beyond what comes with XP and Office. Both Paint and MS Office Picture Manager allow me to resize pics very easily.

X eleventybillion on MS paint. I'd be hard pressed to believe you don't have it.

And if a Craigslist ad doesn't have a picture, I move on.

And digital camera's are cheap as hell. Buy one from the bargain bin or on closeout.

How bout if you got windows 7 even easier to resize and lower file size.
And I'm with first reply, I want to see pics, otherwise your selling me letter on the Internet that I hope are good looking in real life.
Cameras are so cheap now. No excuse.

Upload to photobucket, then copy the img code. Problem solved and size won't make a difference.

On some things like a cylinder head all you are going to get with the average photographic skill I've seen is a blurry black blob.
With a diff chunk a grey blob.... etc...


Photographic skill not only here on TRS but on ebay, which is loaded with PROFESSIONAL sellers... proves one thing that if people selling sh!t on the internet were competent photographers they'd be making a living taking pictures rather than selling things on the internet.

And what really "Not well thought out" about the current layout is that Wanted-To-Buy ads also require a picture.... Ponder that for just a moment.... if someone HAD a given item to take a damned picture of, would they be posting a wanted ad? I think not.

There are a lot of things where a general picture only proves that the seller had one available to take a picture of, because the pictures aren't of nearly enough quality to show any useful details....

I agree with Allan, If you look at my post in Want-to-Buy youll see i had to use a URL for a random smiley just to make my post. However small, this is still sucking up bandwidth that could go elsewhere

upload the pics to your computer, and open them in microsoft paint. press ctrl + W. it opens a box that allows you to scale the pics down height and width wise by a certain percent. click save, upload to the ad, PROFIT!

eh, it helps. i've posted wanted ads where i take a product image off google or something of what i need. i did it when i was looking for a specific type of ranger alloy rim, before i put the pic up i was getting people messaging me with steelies even.

I agree with not requiring a photo in the WTB section.

What size do your pictures need to be? I had no trouble whatsoever in changing them, so just PM me the size you need and an email address and they'll be on the way.
