I am looking for a place to mount my CB in my 97. I fyou have any pics of yours that would be great.
Thanks

mounting

ive got my cobra 29 mounted to the passenger side of the transmission hump angled and facing up where i can see it. the 600 watt linear is under the drivers seat. ill try to get some pics for you in the morning its dark out now not sure if it will work with a manual shift mines an automatic. but if you decide to remove the radio later all its gonna do is have a tiny hole in the carpet not like dash mounted stuff that makes ugly holes in the plastic. if you rig up a linear call out on chanel 8 to columbia sc for "Rebel Ranger" thats my handle i talked to a guy in new hampshire last week at night you never know we might get through

Wow thats crazy ill. I have an auto right now but might put a T-5 in it along with the 5.0 but havent decided.

Mine's screwed to the ceiling right behind the front seats.

I don't have any pics at the moment, but I figured since I don't smoke, why do I need an ash tray. I just took the ash tray out, and my CB slid in there pefectly. Loose enough that it just slid in, but tight enough that I didn't have to screw it in or anthing.

ARRRRGH!!!:pissedoff:

Why is it that Cb people think they need 600 freaking watts to get out???

My "Big" ham radio has 100w and I have communicated effectively with people in CA (from NY) on both AM and SSB

When the bands open up, all that extra power does is create problems for other people on the frequency and create potential problems for people in other bands in case your install isn't just running on the 11 meter band.

Legal limit BTW, is 4 watts.

I have a 1994 manual(so the cup holder isnt in the way like an automatic) I removed the air duct above the center hump under the dash that directs air torward your feet. That made enough room to hang a cobra classic under the dash.

My cellphone has a linear, is that ok?

If said linear is within the restrictions set by the fcc.

Just because I can use 1500 watts legally, doesn't mean that i need to all of the time (in fact I haven't ever needed to use more than 100 watts).

The legal limit on CB is 4 watts AM, 12 watts SSB.
