What did YOU do today?

Had an early day at work.. it was/is incredibly nice out. 20 degrees cooler than it was all last week and next to no humidity.. took advantage of that and did 3 hours of chainsaw work for my mother once I got out. Found a ground bee nest.. one of the mfs got me right on my earlobe.. I'll finish cleaning up that area once it's cold out lol.

The yards gonna be much nicer looking & bigger feeling by the time I'm done pissing the lorax off for the year.

Im making sure to leave enough good owl trees.

The past few years she's had a pair of barred owls and a pair of great horned owls residing in the yard.. it's been nice. Noticably less rodent activity.. happy to have them.

Worked my usual 10, been training someone new at my machine, not sure he will ever get the hang of it, ordered more tractor parts when I got home, had a funny idea when I was taking care of the chickens tonight, I hung a bug light in front of the exhaust fan. See how many bugs get zapped vs get drawn into the exhaust fan. Id just put a black light inside the fan housing before the blades if I had one. lol

Didn't get as much done today as I'd hoped, went to jump into the explorer to move it to in front of the shop and the battery was dead of course (gotta figure out that battery drain, both V8 Explorers do it, super annoying) so I put another battery on it with jumper cables and a charger and let it sit for like an hour and it charged up enough to start... now it's sitting with a 4A float charger on it but I got it up on jack stands so I can change the front diff Thursday night...

Started fiddling with the square body again.. picking away at removing the front spring hangers.

Got all the rivets ground down flush with the inside of the frame.. stuck a chisel between the hanger & frame to get them separated.. pull out the 4lb hammer.. give the chisel a few whacks and then WHACK.. chisel to the face 👍🏻

Lady who fixed me up was cute enough where I was able to muster up the manliness required to not cry.

Receptionist was real cute too.. and a fire-bug.. spicy!

I'm done for the day 😑 pizza and bed.

Dumped in 7 quarts of Lucas Racing oil, installed oil filter and pre-lubed the new 385. Also installed water pump and drive motor, fuel pump blockoff plate and alternator mount and touched up the paint on all of it. Another couple of sessions and it will be ready to go in the truck. We only have NINE DAYS until the NHRA Canadian Open August 28-31 at Cape Breton Dragway

What...no little rubber duckies? ;brownbag;

nah, i am not a fan of that junk so i take them off. that is causing more litter around the usa, those dumb rubber ducks.

my wife and son get them alot on their wranglers. the silver one in the background gets them in the weirdest spots, little backwoods gas stations where we think there are not other jeeps and we come out and there is a dumb duck on the tire.

Thanks! I'm happy enough with how it's turning out. There ain't much a whole lotta wire and some determination can't fix lol.

Btw the pmr30 sounds fun.. it's like a baby fiveseven.

I only have one thing to say

Rust oleum

Laughing about the girls, not the hole in your head. Been there done that, no fun, doesn’t help productivity at all.

🙏

I put together a birthday dinner for the cute brunette. I went to the dollar store and bought a half dozen silly cards, one romantic, got the little bags and the fuzzy stuffing stuff. Then I gave her two or three things that she left here on earlier visits, a couple different size battery packs because she loves the battery powered candles, and some
Flowers.

I was going to cook, and I’m still suffering from the flu, so we went to the local fancy Tavern.

And I got a Walmart little birthday cake and some funky candles. That was a hit.

She was happy. You know what I learned after all these years? If she’s happy, I’m happy.

The Ranger's fenderwell headers got sanded and painted with white VHT...
