Illegal?!?!

I had perfectly good glass in my explorer and had a truck WITH mudflaps break my windshield with a pretty good sized rock. I was pissed... All it comes down to is accidents. People get into an accident with someone who has a stinger, they get seriously injured or killed and then they or the family sues the state for not enforcing that law or whatever. In Washington, you can get a ticket for having your truck lifted too big. If someone were to rear end that tall truck, they can be decapitated and killed. Not neccisarily YOUR fault but then you have vehicular man slaughter on your hands... Yea, blame the people who can't drive for these laws being imposed.

1. if your driving close enough to me to get hit by rocks from my tires... ur too damn close.

2. id rather pay a ticket than have mud flaps.

I was following a guy in a lifted mud truck doing about 40. He was throwing mud and small gravel far enough back to hit me (about 5 or 6 truck lengths and over a lane) luckily none of them did any damage or I would have followed him home and beat the piss out of his chevy lovin' ass. You'd be surprised at what a tire doing 40 can do. Let alone highway speeds.

it was on mythbusters, if u leave the gate up u will get better milage

Yeah, the trucks were made to drive with the tailgate up. If you put it down then you disrupt the air turbulence and some bad stuff happens and you don't get the mileage that you want to get. Or something like that.

at highway speeds you will easily throw a rock over 100 feet. That's too close? Stupidest thing I ever read.

at highway speeds (a minimum of 60 mph) you should easily have over 100 feet of distance between you and the car in front. however, noone ever drives that far apart which is why dumbasses get their windshields cracked.

now a dump truck loaded with rock on the other hand, just passing him will do it.

Hey the next time a cop pulls any body over just say "Officer, Do you smell that bacon?". No just joking

the one, and only thing, thats cool about Maryland is that ive never been pulled over about my truck. i did get pulled over cuz i have California plates tho. he saw my ID and left me alone.

Exactly. The last thing I want is some POS truck with mudders throwing a golf ball sized rock across the hood on my brand new car. Little stones happen but come on.....

100 feet might even be a conservative number when we're talking about how far truck tires can launch projectiles. And let's not forget the havoc that can be wreaked in rain or snow. If mudflaps didn't serve a purpose....there would be no such thing as mudflaps.

Well, if we are judging off of your 60 mph speed. But that isn't it. I said over 100 feet. I have had it happen twice in the rig and I don't tailgate. Vorad makes sure of that. Speaking of rig, do you know why we have to have mudflaps? DERRRRRRR!!

Just admit that it's selfish and retarded to not have mudflaps on lifted trucks. You are more concerned with being perceived as "cool" then you are about being a considerate member of society. It's ok, it's the American way now.

i dont like having mud flaps cuz they look queer and with larger tires, they will rub. as far as driving in the brush and wheeling, they will get ripped right off. i have all terrains so im pretty sure that i wont be throwing a whole hell of alot of rocks but if i do, i hope ur behind me!

Trust me, you don't. I wouldn't go making threats over the internet either. It proves you are nothing but a big mouth moron.

But thanks. They "look queer". So you are concerned about looking cool. I hope you never run across someone like me.

I agree with some in the fat that laws are getting a bit too restrictive in some cases. I have never been pulled over for anything in the truck I drive and left with a ticket because I am respectful, I don't speed and don't act like an idiot. I don't really care how much of a prick the cop seems to be, if you are an asshole to the cop or you have an attitude problem they are more likely to give you a ticket, and you deserve it if that is the case. They don't write the laws and you don't either, why shoot the messenger...

Other drivers should not have to cater to those who don't care about the fact that they have to share the road with everyone else. There are people who have the courtesy to use flaps on-road and remove them off-road. Of course, those guys have to temporarily "look queer" while on the pavement, and we can't have that, can we?

i admit, i did cross the line. im actually not a big mouth by any means. ive never been in a fight because people never would say anything to my face. so let just leave it as is.
anyone can build them selves up on the net.

i hear that. ive been in situations where cops had to split me apart from someone. they where verbally attacking me rather than asking if my kid was ok after they just ran into my truck. i got fed up and began to get in the guys face and the cops stepped in and split us. i appolygized to the cops and told him that thats not the way i handle business. he was cool with me but ended taking it out on the other guy whom continued to be a douche.

when i got pulled over in Arizona, i was very compliant but told them i was just driving by. i didnt ask for any favors but he let me go since i was traveling on orders.

So which is it? Never been in a fight or the cops had to separate you?
