Illegal?!?!

by seperate, i mean in an argument. ive never been in a fist fight and people never talk shit to my face.

Oh ok. Come to Buffalo. People up here will talk shit to your face. Hell, even a trip over to Baltimore could fix that.

Here in Washington, the tire must be covered down to the axle (half of the tire), if it isn't, then you need mud flaps on those tires. And you must also have fender flares that cover the entire width of the tire. I'll admit that I don't have wide enough flares, but the tires stick out maybe an inch or so. Most lifted truck have tires that stick out more than that.
But for mudflaps, the stock flaps are enough to cover my 33x12.5's, I just had to move them outwords an inch or so, to cover all of the tire, not just the inside edge. I don't take them off when on the trail, I wheel hard, and I've never had an issue with them.

In my opinion, even if they look stupid on a truck (I don't even notice mudflaps unless they are huge, and I appreciate it when people DO have them), I would put them on if nothing else to save my ass from flying off and hitting somebody's car or window. If a rock comes off your tires and hits a car, you are responsible for the damage.

Yeah, the trucks were made to drive with the tailgate up. If you put it down then you disrupt the air turbulence and some bad stuff happens and you don't get the mileage that you want to get. Or something like that.

That applies more to trucks with longer cabs and shorter beds. A standard cab 8' truck can't hold the whole bed in a nice swirling action like a Supercrew with a 5.5' bed.

at highway speeds (a minimum of 60 mph) you should easily have over 100 feet of distance between you and the car in front. however, noone ever drives that far apart which is why dumbasses get their windshields cracked.

now a dump truck loaded with rock on the other hand, just passing him will do it.

I got a bullseye in the windshied on my F-150 from a car going the other way. I didn't see what it was but it was nothing wild that caught my attention. I was putzing along on my way to Cabela's one day, some cars went by and kwack, I had a small bullseye up in the blue stuff at the top of the winshield and a racing pulse as I checked myself for bullet holes... it sounded terrible. There were no cars infront of me, so it had to be the cars I had met.

ya, baltimore is pretty hood, u might say. i never have any problems down there tho. even if i stop to get gas in my truck with cali plates in the middle of the night near Johns Hopkins.

ive had like 6 guys try and jump me and my friend and then they where like, " well we dont have any beef with you, just ur friend". we had never seen them before and this was walkin down the street in san diego.

In illinois you can't have a hitch with a reciever on it "when not in use"

The "when not in use" goes the same on the tailgates.

the mesh tailgates yield the worst fuel economy of all combo's (even worse than tailgate down)

Frank

Actually Mythbusters tested this also and it proved to be the most fuel efficient method.

At least that time they used a regular cab pickup. When I had my 99 Ranger with a 3.slow it would hold speed on the highway noticeably better with the tonneau on.
