hi im getting toward the end of my swap and im having major issues finding headers that work i got a set of headmans that were supposed to be for this swap but they didnt clear the steering shaft or the passenger side frame rail then i tried a set of explorer manifolds which cleared everything but the spark plug wires and boots because the plugs are on a different angle than an explorer so does anyone know if they make either a set of shorties or long tubes that will work and clear all the problem areas thanks jim....

Tri-Y's maybe?

I'm using a set of Patriots that I got from Summit...they worked fine for me...with only a slight trimming on the passenger frame rail.

What year is your truck, what engine and heads are you using, what mounts are you using, 2wd/4wd... manual, auto, which specific trans...

its a 1989 xlt ranger 2wd im using the andvanced adapter plates with convertible mounts and a t5 tranmision and they are stock 1984 mustang heads.

Do you have a part number for the patriot headers?

I'll try to get some pics of mine up here tomorrow.

I think they fit fine....for me...in my '85...I dunno how much of a difference there is in an '89, probably not too much.

Yes, Tri-Ys typically fit very well in a 2wd manual trans Ranger. Mine fit perfect, and clear everything. The application is '65-'70 Mustang, generally called "Shelby Tri-Y"

They are nice and high, too- above the frame rails.

I have a set of tri y's also. Haven't put them on yet though. I hope they work with my c4 trans.
