Gt-12

i'd need half a dozen clones just to get the projects done....then i'd need a job just to feed the freeloading buggers.

thats the beauty of clones.... you dont have to feed them, just make more!

i'll just work alone.

the sleeve with some brackets, ready to tack in place.

gt6005-11.jpg

and the arm is now held in place.this should make things easier.i set the location of this joint 1/4'' inward of it's proper location so i can adjust it by shimming behind the block plate.

gt6006-6.jpg

the top mount laid out, ready for drilling.

gt6007-4.jpg

and held by a temporary brace.now the three points are in place,i can figure clearances better.

gt6008-5.jpg

from the front you can see there's just enough room to fit the smaller spring and miss the header.

i'm a pro at wrecking sawzall blades.....the amazing thing is that the saw still works:D

Looks good. How are you going to get the bottom right hand bolt in that plate though? or do my eyes deceive me?

it looks worse than it really is in the photo.it won't be an easy one,but there is a straight shot at it.once the plates are pulled out to finish weld them, there will also be a bit moer trimming around that bolt.at first i thought i may need to omit that bolt, but it's the most important one of the four.

so,a big milestone passed.....

the engine is no longer just sitting on blocks in the approximate position.i figured if i was going to be attatching suspension parts to the engine,i'd better hook the engine to the frame.so the mounts got built.

gt6010-3.jpg

they use poly leaf spring bushings for isolation.these will provide insulation from the higher frequency vibrations, while keeping overall engine movement to a minimum.they are also easy to build good looking mounts for.

cool:headbang:

i hear you guys are getting snow tonight......it's blowing about 100km/h here with rain so thick you cant see through it.gotta love october.

so i got the left side of the suspension up to the same point as the right.

all four wheels are bolted on now....sure wish i had some tires.

but i also got news my bid on major service on three boats for one of the big lodges was accepted.that'll pay for those rims and buy the tires....maybe the sidepipes too,as long as the kids don't want to eat too much.

thanks....i've got that same sort of reaction to this thing myself-i think that's what gives me the energy to keep plugging away at it.i can't believe how far ahead of schedule i am.:yahoo:

do u know how the rims are gonna look when the bodys on? like the offset i mean because if they stick out like an inch or 2 past the fenders itd be sick!

heres an example of what i mean its my f150

From the looks of it, the rims are still inside the perimeter of the cage, and the body shell will attach to the cage. Should be just dandy.

Coming along very nicely, gwaii!

the wheels will be inside the fenders.....they have to be.this thing sits too low for them to stick out.

Yeah we got about 8" of snow, then it jumped up to 3* and made everything a nasty slushy mess.
