I know. My poor tow rig might see salt for the first time...

I dug the doors out. No idea where the bolts are. Usually I thread them back into the doors. So I pulled the ones out of the diesel's 4x4 donor.
So the passenger side will be patriotic. Blue truck, white door and red bolts haha.

Thanks! She was a tough find. I can't wait to start working on her. She has a lot of cancer to cure though. Damn rock salt :annoyed:

I saw you had an 03. Why did you sell it?

Mine had some bad cancer as well. The bed was bad and the doors were getting really crusty. Salt sucks big time. Around here you start seeing rust after about 5 years. Doesnt matter which of the big 3 you own.
But anyways, that truck was paid off and I had a kid coming. So I sold it and paid off a high interest student loan I had. I didnt want to do it but it was the right thing to do. That '03 I had was a fun truck. Espcially after I got a good clutch in it. My friends still see it often. The new owner drives it like he stole it. Just like I did. Then a few months went by and I couldnt take it anymore. I needed another diesel. So then I got an OBS Powerstroke. The 96-97 7.3s are one of my favorite trucks.

Nice. I can understand that. I don't have any kids on the way, but I put an offer on a house yesterday. And I have plenty in the student loans department. I thought about selling some of my toys, but there was not a whole lot to gain. I need the F250, the Ranger isn't reassembled yet and I'll never get what its worth to me, and the ATV is my way of dealing with life. None of those would change my housing situation or help me avoid mortgage insurance, so for I now I will just deal with it and keep playing the lottery :icon_rofl:

I'd love to have an 97 F350 7.3 ZF5 4x4 Crew Cab Short Bed. That are mean looking trucks and the 7.3 is an awesome powerplant!

Good luck with the house! My wife knows my toys are a big part of my life. I wont get ride of the other ones haha. I am the same, I will learn to live with them.

In 2006 I bought my first diesel. Thats when I got the bug. It was a 2002 Duramax with the ZF6 manual trans. It was manual everything. It was fast (low 14s in the 1/4) but it was hard to keep together on a college kids budget. I had a lot of IFS and electrical problems. It was also quite flashy and gave me 8 points on my license haha. Then I sold it to a friend and moved on to the 7.3 and have been 7.3 ever since :)

Next to my 7.3 after a friend bought it. It now puts down 500 rwhp easy

Thanks. Waiting on the Realtor to call back with the answer. But the new place has a full 2 car garage that I am really looking forward to! Every mad scientist needs a workshop! My girlfriend knows about the toys and she can't do anything to change that lol. Fortunately, she loves riding quads. She has not had the pleasure of 4 wheeling in a truck though. Next on the list after a ring is a quad for her. The quad is a few years out though.

That Chevy is clean. Never been a Chevy guy, my parents had them growing up and I saw nothing but problems with them. Ya... Owning a diesel on a college budget is a stretch. I love my Ranger because it was paid off lol. And speed was never an issue in it. A 3500lb vehicle with less than 90 HP is not going to be setting land speed records. You diesel did the quarter mile faster than my Ranger can do 0-60...

I am paying off the quad and the F250 and they will be around for the long run. I think my first diesel will me an old deuce and a half. I want one... bad! I want it for a tow rig, a 6x6 super single wheel mud truck, and because they are virtually indestructible... plus the look awesome!!!

Yeah, i got caught street racing. 6 points. But I beat him! Then a speeding ticket. 2 points.

If we get caught racing here its just an automatic plates pulled walk home. They were squishing our cars or a while to make examples out of people after a few truckers got killed

He called it street racing. It was more like a SS Camaro and I racing each other to the end of the 2 lane on ramp. He was at the top in the median lol

I have 2 points for running a red light. It was yellow when I entered the intersection (bad timing on my part), it was issued by the Univeristy of Pittsburgh Police (which is a subsidy of the Pittsburgh Police), and it was the day before I graduated from Pitt... :annoyed:

I guess I needed one last screw you from the Univeristy because the $30k in student loans wasn't enough..... The part that made me so mad was that the cop explained to me seven times how to pay the ticket... SEVEN! I understood it after the first explanation :icon_twisted:

Oh well... And I never owned anything fast enough to street race with :icon_rofl:

Lol my ranger was my only fast truck. Laws here suck so much if u squeak your tires pull an e brake rev the exhaust its "street racing"
