I replaced the power seats in my Ranger with power seats from an Explorer. The only downfall is that you can't slide the seats forward quickly to let people in the back. you have to use the electric slider to move it forward. but the amount of times i have people in the back... it's worth the bother. More power adjusts in the Explorer seats.

Those look great! The seats are one thing I do miss about my old '95 Explorer Sport.

was it a direct bolt up and where did you tap into to get the power?...looks great

Yeah they just bolted right in. Very simple. Kept my stock seatbelt brackets too, but had to unbolt them from the original seat bracket and then bolt them back onto the new seat bracket. I already had power seats in the truck so I didn't have to get power from anywhere. Even the wire harness just clicked right into the new seats. I picked up the seats at a wrecker for $125
The explorer seats have a few more power adjustments which I really liked.

Am trying to find a new steering wheel now, as mine is quite warn out. Not sure if I want to go with an after market one (lose the airbag) or just buy a new stock Ranger steering wheel. Decisions, decisions... sheesh

What power options do those offer the Ranger seats didn't?

Thanks,

Mike

IIRC lumbar, up and down tilt were not part of Ranger power seats. I have leather Explorer power seats in my 94 Ranger too. I love them.

I just picked up a set of leather exployer seats (both sides) and hope to get them installed this week-end. They look as if the council will fir in as well since I have a extended cab.
