1989 Ford Ranger (manual trans M5OD) 2.9l engine swap to 4.0 from 94 Ford Explorer (auto trans)

I tried but when I do the jump to do the test on the eec test plug and grey plug the check engine light never blinks it just stays on. I tried putting the volt meter in and it just reads the battery voltage and doesn’t fluctuate

Just swapped crank position sensor and same issue. Truck was cold so it fired up. Ran low idle with check engine light on. I just shut it off till I figure out where and how to chase the problem

I ran a few more test last night. I am pretty sure the EEC Test is never going to read me any codes if I have it pinned in the wrong spot on that Firewall connector. From what I've found the check engine light wire/power supply is pink/light green and goes to pin 10 on the connector for the 89 ranger 2.9. My problem is I do not have a pink/ light green on the 91 harness I used. Currently I have a Tan/red running to pin 10 that I just left in place.
An odd thing to this as well is the check engine light seemed to be functioning properly with that tan/red wire, it would come on when started, then go out. I am searching hard for the correct pin out for that C105F connector for both the 89 2.9l and the 91 4.0, it would be nice have the functions with color of wire. I have began to build my own with test but it is far from complete. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am thinking with my low idle issue and no start once warm I have shorted a piece of the ignition system somewhere, likely a sensor that I will have to track down sooner or later before I can verify any correct pin changes to the bulk connector.
