My uncle has a 347 carb'd motor with gt40x heads and all that good jazz that he said i could have. its pushing around 365 hp at the wheels behind his 5spd in his notchback. he took it out of a car we rolled, everything is still good on the motor, but i dont have a flexplate, or accessories with it. its like a standard long block except it has an intake manifold he threw on it.i think its just a factory 5.0 mani out of an 85. anyways i did the duraspark on my 2.8 so i know ill need a duraspark type disty. i was looking in summit racing at the petronix hei disty with one wire hook up. would i still need my duraspark box? what disty should i use? also i know the intake mani is really gonna hold me back so i need to get another one. will carb'd 302 intake fit? i heard i could use my accessory brackets and stuff on the new motor is that correct?

ok down to the tranny. what year and what vehicle should i be looking out of? i want either a c4 or c6(which would be better?) im not sure if the t-case adapter from james duff will fit a c6 or not. also i want the small bellhousing. the motor i have has a 50 oz harmonic balancer so which flexplate would i need? i also thought about the tci street fighter trannys as well. im not sure if that would be better then finding one at a j/y and building it. what stall speed converter will i need? i do alot of offroading so i want something that wont be too high

Dont need your dura box with a petronic dizzy. Yes a carb intake will fit. On the trans i would go with a c4 if you can build it yourself j/y and build it if not i would go with tci street fighter. Flexplate will depend on tranny bellhousing if yot get it from summit they can hook you up. Converter stall depends on your cam. What cam is in the motor?

i was thinking of buying a c5 from the y/j they got one for $150, and using the c4 bellhousing, PA C4 valvebody, and c4 stall converter and flexplate . how would that work out? the cam in the motor is frpp's x cam, although i wouldnt mind swapping it out for something more streetable. he also has all the accessories off of an 85 mustang gt motor, could i just use all of those without messing with swapping mine over?

How long is that x-fer case going to last behind a build 347? Going to switch to a full size one?

eventually i will, ive heard the 1350 will hold its own against v8 power

anybody know the stock c5 stall speed?

I went with a C-6(stouter than the C-4, but they are HP pigs)and a Dana 20 T-case behind my 347. The only problem with my set up is you have to have the 31 spline output on the tranny(mine out of an 84 150 4x4) for the adapter(Advance Adapters, and they were pricey in 2000)to work. We had to shorten the output shaft by about an inch or so for the new spud shaft as well. if I was going to do it all over again I would find a nice C-4 and have all the stock(early Bronco) stuff(adapters to the 20) on it. The C-4 should hold up, its not like your bolting it up to a 500hp monster. Just make sure it has proper cooling and you should be good.

If it's a 347, then it's more'n likely balanced to 28 oz/in.

actually i wanna tone it down some with a milder cam, i thought it was the x303 but its not...hell it come out of an 11.5 sec fox body, i want a f cam for driveability. so what about the crown vic accessories and brackets? will they interfere with anything on the b2? i dont want to pull all my accesories and change pullies and crap if i dont have to. plus the vic accessories have underdrives. gonna be getting rid of the a/c while im at it

Not clear on your question, but you can use Crown Vic accessories on the swap. You will need to relocate the rad like most of us have done.

yea im going to go with a different radiator, prolly a duff or advance adpters, talked to my uncle, its a 50oz imbalance because it was a 90 block that was redone with good stuff, forged internals, all that.

i was just wanting to make sure i could use the crown vic accessories and brackets he has in his parts pile. also what would be a good stall for the converter? im swapping out the cam for a b303 or f303 from frpp, and im not sure on what intake manifold to get, it has a victor single plane on it now. and would a 500 cfm 2bbl be enough carb for it?

whats the best oil filter relocator to get? ive read alot about the duff ones leaking

also what about radiator hoses if i got with a made for 302 swap radiator?

Your Uncle doesn't know much if that's what you think. The year of the block has nothing to do with the imbalance facter. 99% of 347's are done to 28 oz/in. But go ahead and bolt on the 50 oz parts..........................................Let us know how bad it shakes. :D
