Continuing my little saga of putting a 2002 3L Taurus engine in my 98 ranger, I had the engine in and the truck was running, but noticed I had a significant oil leak on the front of the pan. I noticed that oil pan had a dent in the bottom front, so I am wondering if the pan is slightly "warped". I took off the engine mounting bolts as well as the bolts to the transmission, and hosted the engine enough to drop the pan, and put some gasket maker around the front of the pan. I have put it back together, and have driven it a bit, and it is not leaking (yet) - time will tell!! If that does not work, I will pull the engine again, and get a new oil pan!!!
My Question:
I noticed some sort of sensor on the passenger side of the engine block that I did not have on my 98 Ranger. Up to this point, I have just "ignored it". Anyone know what it is, and what I should do to address it?
