Engine Swap Saga: Oil Leak

I took my 98 Ranger with a 2002 Taurus engine transplant for a 10 mile test drive last night. It did generate a couple engine codes, seemed to run so-so at 55 mph, but the biggest issue was I discovered it is dripping oil fairly rapidly from the front of the engine.

Is there a easy way to tell if the oil leak is coming from the main front seal or the oil pan?

wash it off with brake cleaner.. then run the engine and check where it came from.

3.0l's have a common issue with the front portion of the oil pan gasket popping out of place
