4.0 to 3.0 04 rangers engine swap

Will a 3.0 engen wire up in a 4.0 if there both 04s, I understand I might loos 4x4, but really need a working truck, I also know I might need to transfer the trans, the 3.0 is a pats rats nest and the 4.0 just has a blown engine thank you

Not from my experience, but talking to others, the 3.0 is completely different from the 4.0, just knowing Ford in general, they really like to switch things up from one motor to the next where other makes at least they have similarities.

Seems like it'd be more trouble than it's worth. Did 3.0 ever go coil packs? That alone is pretty significant electrical difference.
