As some of you all know I was in a pretty horrific collision about 13 days ago. I have unfortunatly been out of work since than and insurance is finally settling the total loss with Ford Motor Credit, than they are sending all the documents to GAP. Now that Ford Motor Credit can see that everything is getting taken care of they will sell my a new Ford Vehicle. My finance manager over at earnhardt ford believes(and is currently working on) she can get my into another NEW ranger with the exact same specs as my dead 2010 for roughly the same monthly payment, possibly a little less because I won't go for the extended warrenty this time(my one problem I had, my ac going out, ford wouldn't honor the warrenty). My concerns are 2 things. 1. Because I didn't forsee this situation happening I have no down-payment money saved, and 2. I have no $4,500 trade in this time. But she is trying for No down payment and utilizing every rebate possible. This ranger by the way is identical to my dead truck but its the Dark Shadow Grey Metallic instead of oxford white. Thankfully as much as I loved that truck I wasn't attached like I was with my 99.

Couple more carnage shots while I'm at it. My boss was behind me in traffic so, he saw my truck, pulled over to stay with me and took some pics.

imo if you cant get away with the 0 down maybe try getting a used ranger? maybe a 08 lease trade in or something. maybe take out a small loan and buy something like this? http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/cto/1967626783.html

Because at this stage in my life my credit kinda sucks but I have made all my Ford Credit Payments early. Therefore I cannot get a bank loan. I was actually about to buy a rediculously cheap f150 extended cab with a ton of miles to use as a work beater but couldnt get approved. I loved having a new ranger.

Apparently. and my back bumper slide into a nissan car and both my mirrors hit some stuff.........

if u have the chance to get another Ranger i would say do it.
i hope u can get another one with no down payment.

good to see ur ok man

They sure don't build them like the old flying bricks anymore do they. Good that you were OK. Hope you get a new one and be a little more careful with your life. Always good to walk away from a wreck like that. Hope there were no small kids in that van.

You can't get approved for a used one but you can buy a new one? :icon_confused:

LOL the van has a tapout sticker. atleast you took a crappy van off the road and not a fellow ranger. good to hear your ok. and i work in car sales. if they say they cant finance you it just means they dont wanna cus they wont make enough money. also if they say you have to pay admin fee you legaly dont have to pay anything over the advertised price. they are required to advertise everything in the price plus tax. admin and destination and all that crap is not necessary. save $$$$ lol.

From what I have put together, if a bank won't loan you money it is because they have doubts about your ability to pay it back.

bank, yes. but if a dealer says that they cant get you monthly where you were before, their lying. trust me they just would rather push it on you that they cant go up and wait for you to agree to more. even if its 50 bucks a month.

Matt, you have the worst luck of anybody I know. You also have the worst habit of running into things of anyone I've known since my first g/f.

If I were you I'd look for one of three things:

A first gen that is such a tank that it won't even get damaged if you hit something.

A carbed 2.0 or some other similarly underpowered vehicle that can't go fast enough to get obliterated like that.

Or a Saturn, because you just put the plunger on it and pull and all the dents come right back out (Literally, I've done it before).

On the bright side, at least you weren't killed. That looks like it was a pretty gnarly wreck.

He may have already had his credit maxed with the new one. I've seen people with 700+ credit scores get turned down for $500 personal loans through their own bank because of too much other debt taken out recently (he'd bought a new house, a boat, and a car all within 3 months).

That was before he got the new one the first time.

If I had to pick a truck to be in a wreck in, a first generation would be close to the last thing I would pick.
